20210262135 · 2021-08-26 ·

An apparatus and method for pre-shrinking a wet fabric prior to drying. The apparatus includes, among other components, a balloon extractor station and a hydro-sizer compression station. The balloon extractor station removes some water from the wet fabric. The hydro-sizer compression station is operatively connected to, and disposed downstream of, the balloon extractor station, and compresses the wet fabric in a lengthwise direction, and in so doing, pre-shrinks the wet fabric prior to drying. The method includes, among other steps, extracting some water from the wet fabric so as to form a hydro-extracted and wet fabric, compressing lengthwise the hydro-extracted and wet fabric so as to form a compacted and wet fabric that is now pre-shrunk prior to drying, and drying the compacted and wet fabric so as to form a compacted and dry fabric.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GRIPPING RECTANGULAR TEXTILE ITEMS AND/OR FOR FEEDING RECTANGULAR TEXTILE ITEMS TO A TREATMENT INSTALLATION

A method and device in which a respective laundry piece initially is automatically gripped at a location and pulled apart. The automatic gripping of laundry pieces for feeding to an infeed machine requires a plurality of handling procedures which for reliable automation have to be coordinated. The laundry piece is subsequently reoriented such that said laundry piece can be acquired in a manner which is favorable in terms of the subsequent steps, which can take place in front of a wall that stabilizes the laundry piece. Once the laundry piece has been gripped in the region of a periphery, the laundry piece, as a function of which periphery has been gripped and by way of which alignment the laundry piece is to be fed to the infeed machine, is pulled longitudinally or transversely onto a conveyor that transports said laundry piece to the infeed machine.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATING TEXTILE ITEMS

In commercial laundries, textile items are treated in batches. This applies in particular to washing in continuous washing machines and to drying in tumble driers. Such a batch-wise treatment has to be carried out such that the treatment does justice to all textile items of the batch. The textile items are mixed in the batch-wise treatment, making it necessary to sort the batches again after the treatment, namely, the textile items have to be identified again after the treatment. The invention provides that the textile items are individually treated in succession, resulting in an individual treatment of each textile item being implemented. Damage to the textile items or wrong treatments are thus avoided. The textile items are treated while maintaining the sequence of the textile items, on account of which the textile items are not mixed and do not have to be sorted again at the end of the treatment.

Method and System for Wrapping Ties in a Facemask Manufacturing Process

An automated system and method wrap the fastening ties around the body of a continuous stream of facemasks in a facemask production line. The facemasks are oriented such that each facemask has a leading pair of ties and a trailing pair of ties extending from a body in a conveying direction of the production line. The leading pair of ties is drawn below the body as the facemask continues to be conveyed in the conveying. The body is conveyed through a plurality of conveyor sections oriented at angles such that the conveying direction of the body changes at a junction from one conveyor section to an adjacent conveyor section. At the junctions between conveyor sections, an impinging force is directed against the body that causes body to flip, thereby causing the leading and trailing pairs of ties to further wrap around the body.

AUTONOMOUS TIERED LAUNDRY FOLDING DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS OF USE

Devices, systems, and methods for autonomously shuffling a plurality of platters through a plurality of tiered folding bays are described. Each of the platters includes a platter coupling, and the plurality of tiered folding bays each include a bidirectionally driven receiving coupling, at least one of a sliding folding rod and blade, and a lifting mechanism configured to separate the platter coupling from the receiving coupling. The system includes a loading elevator for loading a platter and unfolded laundry article disposed thereon into a bay, and an unloading elevator for lowering a platter and a folded laundry article thereon to an unloading station for handing off to packing. A return conveyor returns each emptied platter to a repositioning station for receiving another spread laundry article for folding. The loading elevator, unloading elevator and each of the plurality of folding bays includes a pair of driven conveyors for transferring platters.
