Surface treatment composition, insulating fiber, yarn, rope and preparation method thereof
The present invention discloses a fiber surface treatment composition, characterized in that the composition is comprised of a silane coupling agent, a polymer and a water repellent agent, wherein the polymer is a copolymer of a polyurethane/acrylic acid polymer, wherein the acrylic polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyacrylic acid, polyacrylates or acrylic acid-acrylic acid ester copolymers. The invention also discloses an insulating fiber having the composition on its surface, the preparation method for it, and an insulating yarn and an insulated cord. The insulated fibers, yarns and ropes of the invention have the advantages of moisture resistance, washing resistance, ultraviolet aging resistance and the like. Particularly, the insulated ropes can be applied to the charging work of transmission lines, especially the UHV transmission lines.
Faired Tether Systems with Internal Support Structure in the Faired Tether
Faired tethers with internal support structures providing support to strength cores, and systems therewith, are described. The faired tethers include one or more electrical conductors and one or more rigid supports that inhibit movement of a strength core within a faired tether.
End fixing structure of composite wire rod
An end fixing structure of a composite wire rod includes a composite wire rod, a wedge body that is formed into a cylindrical shape with an enlarging diameter from a front end portion, wherein an inner wall surface is formed for engaging with the outer surface of the composite wire rod which is copied onto the inner wall surface, and a sleeve provided on an outer peripheral side of the wedge body and having a conical and hollow inner structure, and the wedge body consists of a plurality of divided wedge bodies, facing each other on their divided surfaces with a space therebetween, and the inner wall surface in the divided wedge body is made of microscopic irregularities, thereby shortening a processing time and maintaining a sufficient gripping power over long term.
REINFORCED FABRIC ELEVATOR BELT WITH IMPROVED INTERNAL WEAR RESISTANCE
A belt (30) for suspending and/or driving an elevator car (14) includes a plurality of tension elements (32) extending longitudinally along a length of the belt, at least one tension element of the plurality of tension elements having one or more tension element coating layers (46) applied thereto. A plurality of fibers are interlaced with the plurality of tension elements forming a composite belt structure. A belt coating (44) at least partially encapsulates the composite belt structure.
Hybrid Cable For Reinforcing Polymeric Articles and Reinforced Articles
A hybrid cable having a core and a wrap; the core made from a carbon fiber yarn or bundle of carbon fiber strands or yarns; and the wrap made of a plurality of metal wires helically wrapped around the core, the plurality of metal wires laid side by side without crossing each other. The fibers, yarns, or core may be treated with polymeric sizing, adhesive, or binder. The wire may be steel and may have a coating such as brass or zinc plating, or a polymeric coating or treatment. The hybrid cable is useful for reinforcing composite articles such as belts, track, or hose.
Polymer Composite Material
The present invention relates to a polymer composite having a multi-layered structure formed by implanting one or more steels and fibers into a polymer and adhering the one or more steels and fibers to the polymer and thus being lightweight and having high strength, high toughness, and high wear resistance. The polymer composite includes a polymer, a filament implanted into the polymer and adhered to the polymer, and a fiber implanted into the polymer and adhered to the polymer, in which either only the filament or the fiber is implanted into the polymer and adhered to the polymer, or the filament and the fiber are simultaneously implanted into the polymer and adhered to the polymer.
ELEVATOR ROPE AND A MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
In an elevator rope, an inner layer rope includes: a fiber core that is constituted by a bundle of fibers; a plurality of inner layer rope strands that each include a plurality of steel wires, and that are disposed around an outer circumference of the fiber core; and a resin inner layer rope coating body that is coated around an outer circumference of the fiber core and a layer of the inner layer rope strands. A plurality of outer layer strands that each include a plurality of steel wires are disposed around an outer circumference of the inner layer rope coating body.
Wire
An operating wire has a multi-twisted structure constituted by twisting side strands, each formed by twisting element wires together around a core strand. A side element wire of the side strand faces the outside of the operating wire in the radial direction at a site located on the outer circumference of the operating wire and has a flattened surface where a flat portion provided in a portion of the side element wire in the circumferential direction extends in the X axis direction, the length in the X axis direction of the flattened surface being 4.8-11.0 times the diameter of the side element wire, and the pitch magnification of the side strand being 7.0-12.0 times the diameter.
Inverted Injection Method of Affixing a Termination to a Tensile Member
A method for attaching an anchor to an end of a tensile member by inverting the assembly of anchor and tensile member and injecting pressurized potting compound. A length of filaments of the tensile member are placed within a cavity through the anchor. The anchor and filaments are placed in an inverted position, with the distal end of the anchor facing downward and the cable extending upward out of the anchor. If the anchor has an open distal end this is sealed. Liquid potting compound is injected into the anchor cavity and allowed to solidify. During the solidification process, a controlled translation (pulling) of the cable is preferably introduced.
TENSION MEMBER FOR ELEVATOR SYSTEM BELT
A belt for an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a length of the belt. Each tension member includes a plurality of mineral load carrying fibers arranged in a matrix material. A jacket material at least partially encapsulates the plurality of tension members. An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car positioned in the hoistway and movable therein and a belt operably connected to the elevator car to suspend and/or drive the elevator car along the hoistway. The belt includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a length of the belt. Each tension member includes a plurality of mineral load carrying fibers arranged in a matrix material. A jacket material at least partially encapsulates the plurality of tension members.
