METHOD FOR APPLYING COATING CHEMICALS TO YANKEE DRYERS FOR TISSUE AND TOWEL PRODUCTION
A method applying a composition to a dryer cylinder is provided. The method includes determining an amount of water to apply onto a surface of a dryer cylinder based on a total evaporation rate of the dryer cylinder and spraying a composition including the water and a coating chemistry onto the surface of the dryer cylinder. Systems for applying composition to dryer cylinders are also provided herein.
Sheet manufacturing apparatus
A sheet manufacturing apparatus includes a pressing unit, a separate sheet shaping unit, a transportation unit, and a cutting-off unit. The pressing unit includes a pressing roller that presses a material containing fibers and a binder, which has a function of bonding the fibers together, to form the material into a shape of a continuous sheet. The separate sheet shaping unit cuts the continuous sheet into a shape of a separate sheet. The transportation unit is provided between the pressing roller and the separate sheet shaping unit and transports the continuous sheet formed by the pressing unit to the separate sheet shaping unit. The cutting-off unit is provided between the pressing roller and the transportation unit. When transportation abnormality occurs on the continuous sheet that is being transported, the cutting-off unit cuts off, from the continuous sheet, a part of the continuous sheet where the transportation abnormality occurs.
Sheet manufacturing method and sheet manufacturing apparatus
A sheet manufacturing method includes a web forming step of forming a web by accumulating a defibrated product in a dry manner, a moisture imparting step of imparting the web with moisture, a pressurizing step of pressurizing the web to which the moisture is imparted, and a heating step of heating the web to which the moisture is imparted, in which a water content of the web to which the moisture is imparted in the moisture imparting step is 12% by mass or more, a pressure applied to the web in the pressurizing step is 0.2 MPa or more, and a temperature of the web in the heating step is 100° C. or lower.
Method of determining the moisture content of a web of cellulose pulp
The present invention relates to a method of determining the moisture content of a web of cellulose pulp arriving at a pulp dryer. The method comprises measuring, at several instants during a predetermined time interval, the moisture content of said web using a moisture sensor arranged upstream of the pulp dryer; measuring state variables of drying medium of said pulp dryer; calculating, based on said moisture sensor measurements, a total value of moisture introduced into the pulp dryer by a portion of said web during said predetermined time interval; determining, based on said measured state variables, a predicted total value of moisture present inside the pulp dryer; comparing said calculated total value with said predicted total value to obtain a deviation therebetween; calibrating said moisture sensor using said deviation; and measuring the moisture content of a web of cellulose pulp using said calibrated moisture sensor.
Molding roll for making paper products
A roll for molding a fibrous sheet. The roll includes a rotatably driven cylindrical shell. The cylindrical shell includes an interior surface, an exterior surface, and a permeable patterned surface on the exterior surface of the shell. The permeable patterned surface has at least one of a plurality of recesses and projections, a plurality of holes extending from the exterior surface to the interior to allow air to be moved through the shell. Each hole has an exterior end and an interior end, and a plurality of grooves. Each groove is fluidly connected to the exterior end of each hole and extends outward from the corresponding hole. The roll also includes a vacuum box on the inside of the cylindrical shell to draw air from the exterior surface of the shell to the interior surface. The vacuum box is stationary with respect to the rotation of the shell.

System, control system, an inspection system, and a method of controlling and cleaning a steam box
A system comprising: (a) a steam box; and (b) a monitoring system that monitors cleanliness of the steam box and is configured to connect to a paper machine.
METHOD, SYSTEM AND PAPERBOARD PRODUCTION MACHINE FOR ESTIMATING PAPERBOARD QUALITY PARAMETERS
A computer-implemented method for estimating at least one quality parameter of paperboard produced in a paperboard production subprocess of a paperboard processing pipeline by a data-driven module having a preprocessing module and a machine-learning module. Sensor data is acquired along the processing pipeline. Features are extracted from the sensor data by the preprocessing module. The machine-learning module is trained to reproduce target quality values from historical features. After training, the machine-learning module processes real-time features and estimates at least one quality parameter. A system implements the computer-implemented method and to a paperboard production machine includes such a system.
