Aspects of the present invention provide methods, systems, and/or the like for: (1) receiving current thermal imaging data for a portion of a paper web in the paper manufacturing process; (2) determining force data for the portion of the paper web; (3) processing, to produce a first data analysis result, current thermal imaging data, the force data, and paper profile data using a machine-learning model trained with respective historical thermal imaging data, respective historical force data, and respective paper profile data for each respective prior paper breakage event in a set of prior paper breakage events; (4) generating, based on the first data analysis result, a prediction as to an occurrence of the paper break on the portion of the paper web; (5) identifying a preventative action based on the prediction; and (6) facilitating performance of the preventative action.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING OR TREATING A WEB OF FIBROUS MATERIAL
A process for the production or treatment of a fibrous web, in particular a paper or cardboard web, includes the following steps: a. drying of the fibrous web in a dryer section; b. subsequent cooling of at least one first side of the fibrous web by way of convection cooling, whereby the fibrous web has a temperature of 65 C. or less on at least the first side after cooling, in particular 50 C. and less; c. apply steam to at least the first side of the fibrous web, in particular the temperature on the first side after steam application is at least 70 C., optionally more than 80 C. or 90 C.; and d. treatment of the fibrous web in at least one calendering nip.
SEAL STRIP TEMPERATURE MONITORING SYSTEMS AND ASSEMBLIES THEREFOR
An assembly includes: a seal strip with an upper wear surface and an opposed lower surface, the seal strip configured to provide a seal for a suction roll, the seal strip comprising a first material having a first thermal conductivity; a seal strip holder, the seal strip residing in the seal strip holder and movable relative thereto; and a temperature monitoring system. The temperature monitoring system comprises: a heat-conducting rod at least partially embedded in the seal strip, the heat-conducting rod comprising a second material, wherein the second material has a second thermal conductivity that is higher than the first thermal conductivity; a temperature sensor connected with the heat-conducting rod for sensing temperature in the heat-conducting rod, and a controller operatively connected with the temperature sensor, the controller configured to receive signals from the temperature sensor and process the signals to indicate a temperature of the upper surface of the seal strip.
Method for determining the dryness of a fibrous web, and method for controlling or regulating a machine for producing a paper web, and computer program for carrying out the methods
A method for determining the dryness of a fibrous web, in particular a tissue web, during the production of the fibrous web, is carried out in a machine including a drying cylinder, in particular a Yankee cylinder, to which at least one, preferably two, dryer hoods are assigned, and a reel-up for winding up the fibrous web. The determination of the dryness of the fibrous web is carried out before the drying cylinder on the basis of measured values which describe the following variables: the amount of solids in the fiber web at the reel-up, the amount of water in the fiber web at the reel-up, and the amount of water which is evaporated in the dryer hood or hoods. A method for controlling or regulating a machine for producing a fibrous web, a computer program and computer program product are also provided.

Device and method for transferring a strip of a web
The invention relates to a device and a method for transferring the tail of a web from a first clothing to a second clothing. It is characterised in that the tail is transferred in a first, short open draw from the first clothing to the second clothing. This enables automatic web transfer requiring significantly less space and with equipment of low complexity.
