Disruptor assembly adjustment system and method
A disruptor adjustment system comprising: a disruptor assembly configured to disrupt a volume of smelt flowing from a smelt spout into a dissolving tank, wherein the disruptor assembly comprises an actuator operatively engaged to a disruptor, a sensor configured to record process data from the recovery boiler; and a control system configured to receive a sensor output signal from the sensor, wherein the sensor output signal indicates the process data at a measured time, wherein the control system is further configured to compare the sensor output signal to a programmed operation range, and to send a disruptor input signal to the disruptor assembly to adjust a disruptor operating condition if the process data of the sensor output signal is outside of the programmed operation range. In certain exemplary embodiments, the sensor is an image capture device. In certain exemplary embodiments, the disruptor assembly can be adjusted remotely.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING A WEB BREAK OF A FIBROUS WEB, INDUSTRIAL PLANT AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT
A method for monitoring an industrial plant. In a first part of the industrial plant, first parameters are provided. The industrial plant is used to produce and/or process a fibrous material web. Second parameters are provided in a second part. The parameters are stored, preferentially as time series. In the case of a web break in the second part, the second parameters are first analyzed for a second anomaly. If no second anomaly can be detected, the first parameters are analyzed for a first anomaly. During the analysis, the parameters which were stored in a time range before the web break are preferably examined. If a first or second anomaly is detected, these, and optionally measures to avoid such web breaks, are displayed to the user. Optionally, the first parameters and/or the second parameters can be set so as to avoid future web breaks.

A fiber body forming apparatus including an accumulating unit that has a release unit that releases a material containing a fiber and that has an accumulating member on which the material released from the discharging unit accumulates, a sheet substrate supply unit that supplies a sheet substrate to a position vertically below the release unit, and a control unit that controls operation of the accumulating unit and the sheet substrate supply unit, in which the control unit controls the operation of the accumulating unit and the sheet substrate supply unit to selectively execute a first mode for causing the material to accumulate on the accumulating member and the second mode for supplying the sheet substrate to the position vertically below the release unit and causing the material to accumulate on the sheet substrate.

An assembly for a papermaking machine includes: a seal strip with an upper surface configured to provide a seal for a suction roll; a seal strip holder, the seal strip residing in the seal strip holder and movable relative thereto; and a wear monitoring system. The wear monitoring system may include a magnet and magnetic field sensors or an ultrasonic transducer to monitor movement of the seal strip relative to the holder, thereby indicating wear.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING AND REMOVING ROTATIONAL VARIABILITY FROM A NIP PRESSURE PROFILE OF A COVERED ROLL OF A NIP PRESS
Multiple groups of sensors are circumferentially spaced apart at each cross-directional position along a sensing roll of a nip press to measure and cancel or nearly cancel the effects of rotational variability which may be acting on the sensing roll. The strategically-placed sensors are designed to measure the pressure being placed against the web that is being advanced through the nip press. The average of the measurements of multiple sensors spaced circumferential apart provides a good cancellation of any rotational variability that might be found at a cross-directional position on the sensing roll. In this manner, a more true measurement of the nip pressure profile can be obtained and better adjustments made to reduce nip pressure profile variability. In addition, the nip variability profile may be used as a predictor of cover or bearing failures, resonant frequencies and other roll anomalies.

A transporting apparatus includes a pressurizing roller that transports a web-like or sheet-like transport target object and a heating roller disposed downstream of the pressurizing roller in a transport path, a first bottom sensor and a first top sensor that are disposed between the pressurizing roller and the heating roller, a measuring section that measures a time from when the transport target object is detected by the first bottom sensor until the transport target object is detected by the first top sensor, and a rotation control section that modifies a rotation speed of the heating roller when a time measured by the measuring section is shorter than a first reference time.

A monitoring system for the wet end of a paper or board machine includes at least one light fixture for illuminating pulp supplied onto a wire, at least one image sensor to be placed above the head box at the wet end of the machine, for capturing the activity of the pulp supplied from the head box in the wire section, in the direction of the movement of the wire; and a computing device, to which at least one image sensor is configured to transmit image information for determining activity data on the pulp, the computing device being configured to adjust the settings of the paper or board machine, and/or of the monitoring system, on the basis of the determined activity data. A method for monitoring the wet end of a paper or board machine by means of a monitoring system includes adjusting the settings of the paper or board machine and/or of the monitoring system, on the basis of the determined activity data.

A sheet manufacturing system includes a coarsely crushing apparatus that coarsely crushes a paper; a sheet manufacturing apparatus that generates a sheet-shaped recycled paper using coarsely crushed pieces of the paper as a raw material; and a server that is connected to the coarsely crushing apparatus and the sheet manufacturing apparatus via a network, in which the sheet manufacturing apparatus has a reserving section that reserves the coarsely crushed pieces, a remaining amount detector that detects a remaining amount of the coarsely crushed pieces in the reserving section, a calculation section that calculates an allowable filling amount of the coarsely crushed pieces in the reserving section based on a detection result of the remaining amount detector, and an output section that transmits information related to the calculated allowable filling amount to the server, and the coarsely crushing apparatus has an integration section that integrates the coarsely crushed pieces, an input section that acquires the information related to the allowable filling amount from the server, a display information generation section that generates display information related to the allowable filling amount based on the information acquired by the input section, and a display section that displays the display information.
