Sheet for a mine floor or a road, and method
A sheet for forming a floor in a mine or for forming a road on permafrost. A method for making a sheet that is a closed foam celled sheet. A system for making a sheet.
Modular cell and matrix for supporting a load bearing feature
A modular cell that may be used with other cells to form a matrix under a load bearing feature, the cell being a single piece molding that supports a compressive load placed thereon, the molding including a void space defined within: a skirt shaped support member defining a substantially planar surface with an opening therein; and at least one leg integral to and extending from the support member. The cell further includes at least one linking member that releasably links together multiple cells to form a matrix of cells. The cells may be linked together vertically and/or horizontally. The cell and matrix include greater load bearing capacity and rigidity through aligned legs to carry the weight and interlinking members that act to share the load among the various cells. The design is cheaper to produce and allows easy access of the void space for filling and laying utility lines.
Method for forming a surface around an embedded conduit
A method of forming an upwardly facing surface around a conduit that is embedded in ground material and defines a passageway. The conduit has an open upper end, through which access can be gained to the passageway, and an outer perimeter. The method includes the steps of: obtaining a riser assembly; placing the riser assembly in operative relationship with the open upper end of the conduit wherein the riser assembly is supported at least partially by the ground material around the outer perimeter of the conduit and defines an entry opening to the passageway; and with the riser assembly in the operative relationship with the open upper end of the conduit, forming at least one material around the conduit to a desired vertical thickness on which the upwardly facing surface is defined.
Plant surface structure and modules and method for forming the same
Plant surface structure, comprising plastic base elements, each base element having a deck carried by a series of pillar elements, wherein at least a number of the pillar elements have an open top end in said deck, wherein at least a membrane is placed over said deck and is provided with slits or cut-outs or water permeable elements, such that they open into at least some of the open top ends of pillars, wherein a growing medium is provided on the membrane and a growing medium is provided in said pillars, the growing medium in said pillars preferably being in fluid contact with the growing medium on said membrane.
Polyurethane based roadway forming
Provided herein are roadways containing polyurethane materials. A roadway includes a base layer of a compacted in situ material and/or a wear layer disposed on the base layer. One or both of these layers may include the polyurethane material to bind other components in the layers and to form more robust and durable roadway structures capable of withstanding operating loads of the roadway. In some embodiments, the polyurethane material is added to the wear layer by mixing in situ soil and/or foreign aggregate with polyurethane material or by dispensing the polyurethane material over the existing partially formed wear layer. The base layer may or may not include a polyurethane material. The type, concentration, distribution, and processing of the polyurethane material in the wear layer may be the same or different than that in the base layer.
Permeable paving system
A permeable paving system having a base layer and a paving layer, in which the base layer is made of a plurality of substantially hollow structural modules having a rigid bottom wall and a substantially parallel to a rigid top wall retained in a fixed space relationship from each other by a plurality of spacers, in which the structural module has a plurality of side walls extending between the perimeters of the top wall and the bottom wall, in which the top and bottom walls have apertures to allow movement of fluids into and out of the structural modules, and in which the top wall has a plurality of guide lines configured for alignment of paving material, and/or as a guide for cutting the structural module. Alternatively, instead of guide lines, there may be string line posts connectable to an element of the permeable paving system configured to extend above the top wall of said structural module and configured for establishing elevations of paving materials, and/or alignment of paving materials.
Permeable pavement monitoring system
Various embodiments of a system for monitoring drainage of a permeable pavement system are provided as well as various exemplary installation scenarios. In particular, embodiments of a permeable (or pervious) pavement management platform are disclosed herein. In embodiments, the pavement management platform provides a service that allows the user to determine vacuum maintenance needs for permeable (or pervious) pavement systems. Advantages of the platform include: subscription-based asset management platform as a service (PaaS), customized off-the-shelf water-level sensors, off-the-shelf tipping-bucket rain gauge, observation well installation consistent with industry standards, can be implemented in residential, commercial, municipal, county, and state systems, lithium-ion battery powered sensor, LoRA sensor to hub data transmission network, cellular data transmission from hub, electrical power for cellular data transmission hub (can be solar panel powered), real-time dashboarding of surface runoff storage, real-time dashboarding of ground water recharge rate, and permeability (clogging) threshold alerts, among others.
ARTIFICIAL STONE COMPRISED OF WASTE PLASTIC MATERIALS
Disclosed herein is an artificial stone comprised of a first waste plastic material and a second waste plastic material, wherein the first and/or second waste plastic material is a non-recyclable or a recyclable plastic material. A method of manufacturing the artificial stone is also disclosed. The artificial stone may be used, for example, as an aggregate in a concrete mix or as a filler on a road laying base or sub-base.
Roadway widening structure
A roadway widening structure including a first portion configured to bear on a support and configured to support a first part of the roadway, the first portion including a frame which has a parallelepiped shape and which includes an enclosure having a parallelepiped shape and configured to receive ballast so as to immobilize the first portion on the support, a lower enclosure wall of the enclosure including a first lattice, a second portion cantilevered, secured to the first portion by a lateral wall and configured to support a second part of the roadway, a lateral enclosure wall of the enclosure, facing the second portion of the roadway widening structure, including a second lattice, and for fastening the first portion and the second portion.
