A roadway subsurface sensor system includes roadway housings arranged to define a surface to carry vehicles. Each roadway housing has a sensor assembly having a housing, and sensor layers received by the housing. Each roadway housing also has a drainage layer under the sensor assembly. An uppermost sensor layer from the sensor layers is to provide the surface to carry vehicles. The roadway subsurface sensor system further includes a management controller coupled to the sensor layers. The management controller is configured to process sensed data from the sensor layers.

Boring and milling machine for paved slabs
10280573 · 2019-05-07 ·

A machine for boring holes into a slab includes a plurality of milling bits mounted on a distal end of a rotatable carrier and a coring bit slidably connected to the carrier such that the coring bit rotates with the rotating carrier and is slidable axially relative to the carrier. The coring bit cuts a relatively smooth bore into the solid medium whereas the milling bits create a bore with a relatively rough finish. An actuator engages the coring bit to adjust the depth of cut of the coring bit relative to the milling assembly depending on the desired finish of the hole to be bored. An undercut assembly is mounted on the carrier and selectively operable to form an undercut in the slab at the bottom of the hole so that a cured patch of material poured into the hole is restrained from working loose from the hole.

Method of repairing an edge guard for a road milling machine
10260207 · 2019-04-16 · ·

A method of repairing an edge guard for a road milling machine. An edge guard includes an edge portion having a plurality of insertion receptacles receiving insertion projections of a plurality of runner segments. A worn runner segment is removed by withdrawing its insertion projection from it associated insertion receptacle. A new runner segment is replaced by inserting its insertion projection into the insertion receptacle from which the worn runner segment was taken.

Concrete patching robot

A concrete patching robot has a multi-axis robotic manipulator mounted on a powered, movable, platform that can be raised and lowered to access the underside of structures that may be substantial distances above the ground, for example, the underside of an elevated highway. The entire assembly is maneuverable under the work area and the platform may be raised to access the concrete. Once the work area is in reach of the arm, the device is able to use numerous tools to complete essential steps to repair the concrete.

A machine for extracting infill from artificial turf includes a first conveyor forming an inclined surface having movable tracks to engage and move a length of artificial turf from a first end to a second end of the machine. A rake disposed on the first end of the machine may include teeth configured to engage an underside of the turf for feeding onto the first conveyer. The machine may also include a first roller disposed above the first conveyor, where the first roller is movable to apply a downward force to a top surface of the first conveyor. The machine may further include a second roller on the second end of the machine, where the second roller includes protrusions that agitate the turf for assisting in removing infill. The machine may also include a second conveyor to receive infill removed from the turf for discharge from the machine.
