Hold down system and building using the same
A fastener assembly comprises a first cylindrical member disposed within a second cylindrical member. One of the first and second cylindrical members is movable relative to the other in a first direction. The other one of the first and second cylindrical members is locked relative to the one in a second direction opposite to the first direction. A spring is operably attached to the first and second cylindrical members to urge one of the first and second cylindrical members in the first direction. A removable member is operably associated with the first and second cylindrical members to prevent one of the first and second cylindrical members from moving in the first direction prior to removing the removable member. The removable member is configured to be pulled out to allow one of the first and second cylindrical members to move in the first direction.
Structure having edge reinforcement on profiled rail
A structure is provided, including a concrete body having a first surface and having a second surface arranged at an angle to the first surface; a profiled rail embedded in the concrete body, the profiled rail having a rail body having a rail slot extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the profiled rail, and the profiled rail emerging on the first surface of the concrete body; and a reinforcing body, which emerges on the second surface of the concrete body and which overlaps with the rail body, with regard to the direction of the longitudinal axis of the profiled rail, at least in some regions. A profiled rail assembly for such a structure is also provided.
PREFABRICATED INSULATED BUILDING PANEL WITH CURED CEMENTITIOUS LAYER BONDED TO INSULATION
A prefabricated insulated building panel features a sheet of rigid thermally insulating material, an inner structural layer connected to one face of the insulating material, and an outer layer of cured composite cementitious material connected to an opposite second face of the rigid insulating material with a thickness allowing the cured composite cementitious layer to be supported at the insulating material by bonding action therewith. The panel also features channels at the interface between the composite cementitious outer layer and the insulating material formed by grooves in the second face of the insulating material extending to a periphery of the panel. These channels afford pressure equalization and moisture drainage capabilities to the panel. Additionally, the inner structural layer comprises a layer of cured composite cementitious material bonded to the insulating material, which has a thickened edge portion along the periphery of the panel compared to strengthen the panel.
Cementitious composite constituent relationships
A cementitious composite includes a first layer, a second layer spaced from the first layer, a cementitious mixture disposed between the first layer and the second layer, and a structure layer disposed between the first layer and the second layer. The cementitious mixture is disposed within the structure layer. The cementitious mixture includes cementitious materials. The cementitious mixture is configured to absorb a mass of water that provides a maximum 28 day compressive strength of the cementitious composite upon curing which is represented by M.sub.w=x.Math.M.sub.c. M.sub.w is the mass of water per unit area of the cementitious composite. M.sub.c is a mass of cementitious materials of the cementitious mixture per unit area of the cementitious composite. x is a ratio of the mass of water relative to the mass of cementitious materials of the cementitious mixture per unit area of the cementitious composite. x is between 0.25 and 0.55.

NONWOVEN CEMENTITIOUS COMPOSITE FOR IN-SITU HYDRATION
A cementitious composite includes a structure layer, cementitious material, a first layer, and a second layer. The structure layer defines a plurality of open spaces. The cementitious material is disposed within the plurality of open spaces of the structure layer. The first layer is disposed along a first side of the structure layer. The second layer is disposed along an opposing second side of the structure layer. The second layer is positioned to prevent at least a portion of the cementitious material from migrating out of the structure layer.
