SUPPORT BLOCK ASSEMBLY

The present disclosure is directed to a support block assembly including a strut and an overmolded support block. The strut may include a base, and the support block may include an anchor coupled to the strut. The anchor includes a tang with the support block overmolded on the tang with the tang extending into and encased within the support block forming a bond between the tang and the support block. In an embodiment, the base may define at least one opening. The support block is overmolded on the strut such that the support block extends through at least one opening to form the bond between the strut and the support block. The strut may include a lower side defining a dovetail-shaped groove with the support block overmolded on the strut and extending into the dovetail-shaped groove to form a bond between the strut and the support block.

The invention relates to a roof window comprising a frame and a laminated vacuum insulated glass (laminated VIG) unit fixed in said frame, the laminated VIG unit comprising: a first glass sheet and a second glass sheet, wherein the first and second glass sheets are separated by an evacuated gap, and wherein a plurality of support structures are distributed inside the evacuated gap between the first and second glass sheets, a lamination layer arranged between the first glass sheet and a further sheet, said lamination layer is bonding to an outer major surface of the first glass sheet facing the evacuated gap, wherein the lamination layer comprises at least a first layer and a second layer of a polymer material, wherein, when the roof window is exposed to impacts; the fluctuation in decibel (dB) over a range of 1000 Hz in the interval from 20 Hz to 13000 Hz will not exceed 10 dB.

A vent assembly is adapted to be installed over an aperture in a roof to enable ventilation. The vent assembly has a roofing panel attachable to a roof and a vent cap with attaches over the roofing panel and prevents precipitation from entering the assembly. The roofing panel has a flat panel section, an aperture perforating the panel section, a fence bounding the aperture, and a runoff cricket formed by one corner of the triangularly-shaped fence. The vent cap has a chamfered triangular shape matching that of the fence. The vent cap includes a runoff cover and interior air passages to enable air to pass from an attic space through the roofing panel and out through the vent cap. The distinctive shape of the vent assembly provides advantages in easily installing the assembly to a variety of roofs, both metallic and non-metallic.

The base includes a first hole disposed along a central axis of the base and in the first side of the base, a second hole disposed along the central axis of the base and in the second side of the base, and one or more divots formed in a top side of the base and disposed on the first side of the base. Fasteners are inserted through the first hole and the second hole when the bracket is secured to a first mounting structure. Furthermore, fasteners are inserted through the first hole, the second hole, and are drilled through the one or more divots when the bracket is secured to a second mounting structure.
