Method of controlling a vehicle door lock system
A method of controlling a vehicle includes sensing movement of an interior door handle of the vehicle with a sensing device, such as a door lock switch. A position of a door of the vehicle is sensed with a door position sensor, after movement of the interior door handle is sensed, to determine if the door remains in an unopened position after movement of the interior door handle is sensed, or if the door moves into an opened position after movement of the interior door handle is sensed. When movement of the interior door handle is sensed and the door remains in the unopened position after movement of the interior door handle, instructions are provided with an audio or video device related to the proper procedure for unlocking and opening the door.
Transportable Device for Preventing a Loss of a Movable Object
The invention relates to a transportable device for preventing a loss of a movable object, comprising a protective housing (2) for protecting the device (1), an electronic alarm device (35), which is arranged in the protective housing (2) and has an anti-theft alarm function, and fastening means (11) for detachably fastening the device (1) to the movable object, wherein the fastening means (11) comprise at least one wrap-around element (12; 46; 52; 59; 68) for wrapping around at least one part of the movable object and wherein the wrap-around elements (12; 46; 52; 59; 68) can be fixed by means of locking elements (19, 20, 21; 49, 50, 51; 55, 57, 58; 61, 63, 64, 65; 71, 72, 73), which are arranged in the protective housing (2), wherein the locking elements (19, 20, 21; 49, 50, 51; 55, 57, 58; 61, 63, 64, 65; 71, 72, 73) can be selectively opened and closed by means of a lock device (13) rigidly connected to the protective housing (2), and wherein additionally the protective housing (2) can be selectively opened and rigidly connected to the protective housing (2), and wherein additionally the protective housing (2) can be selectively opened and closed by means of said lock device (13) and access to at least one chamber (18, 33) in the protective housing (2) is thereby enabled.
DOOR LOCK
A door lock apparatus, comprising a male component; a connection to a power source; a lock actuator, powered by the power source and configured to move the male component at least partially through a strike and into a box beyond the strike in the path of the male component to lock a door, wherein the male component comprises a plurality of parallel subcomponents oriented lengthwise in the direction of a path of the male component; a bed of sensors positioned in the box and configured to sense a number of parallel subcomponents that contact the bed after the male component has been moved into the box; and an alarm in communication with the bed, wherein the alarm is triggered when an attempt is made to lock the door and an insufficient number of parallel subcomponents contacting the bed has been sensed by the bed of sensors.
Monitoring and Alert System and Method for Latching Mechanisms
A monitoring and alert system for retro-fitting to latching mechanisms. A master control unit is located proximate to an operator of the system. It includes a user interface having: an input enabling an operator to arm the system and then allow it to operate with minimal interaction of the operator. It also includes an output alerting the operator as to the status of the system in relation to a plurality of prescribed conditions. One or more slave units having sensing units detecting a latched and unlatched state are attached to a discrete latching mechanism for detecting the latching status thereof. Each slave unit comprises sensing means to detect whether the latching mechanism is in a latched state or an unlatched state.
