A locking apparatus and method for securing a door or window comprising a substantial controllable mechanical locking mechanism that secures the sliding door or window into the receiving channel such that the locking mechanism cannot be disengaged from the receiving structure by a manual force; prevents the door or window from being lifted out of a bottom track by mere manual force; is able to report the door or window status as closed or open and as locked or unlocked to a remote user; is able to be remotely locked and unlocked using an application running on a mobile device or computer, or, alternatively by accessing a web accessible portal from a mobile device, electronic device or computer; and is manually operable by a user in the event of a power outage. A manually operated embodiment is useful for use cases in which no electric power is available.

Locking system with multiple latches

A locking system provides multiple lockable latching mechanisms that are collectively operable and lockable from a central actuation mechanism. Each latching mechanism can be positioned and actuated independent of the positioning of others of the latching mechanisms. In particular, the latching mechanisms need not be aligned with one another. The system uses flexible connectors between the central actuation mechanism and the respective latching mechanisms. The flexible connectors can have different respective lengths.

Novo lock

The present invention provides a resistant lock for locking doors, having a locking mechanism that enable locking the door in any direction without any modification or adjustment thereof, and that provide improved security.

REMOTE SAFETY RELEASE FOR SAFETY SWITCHES AND SAFETY SWITCH COMPRISING THE RELEASE
20230139838 · 2023-05-04 ·

A remote safety release comprises an actuator (13) adapted to move between a inoperative position wherein it does not interact with the locking mechanism of a switch and at least one operative position wherein it interacts with the locking mechanism, a remote control device (14) adapted to promote the movement of the actuator from the inoperative position to an operative position, a transfer mechanism (15) adapted to transfer a force from the remote control device (14) to the actuator (13) following the command given by the operator to promote the movement of the actuator (13) and adapted to exert a first solicitation on the actuator (13) to promote its automatic passage from the inoperative position to an operative position, while the remote control device (14) constantly exerts on the actuator (13) a second contrast solicitation opposite to the first solicitation and having at least equal value.

DEVICE FOR LOCKING A DOOR
20230203858 · 2023-06-29 ·

The invention relates to a device (200) for locking a door, which comprises: a bolt (40) comprising a bar (52) configured to engage in a housing secured to the frame (80) accommodating the door and a pusher means secured to the bar (41) and spaced apart from the bar by a stem and in which the bolt is positioned on the door at a height relative to the foot of the door of between thirty and eighty centimetres, such that the bar of the bolt can be engaged with or disengaged from the housing secured to the frame by pressure applied by a user's knee against the pusher means.

Hands free gate

The present gate includes a barrier frame and a gate in the barrier frame. The gate is opened by inserting a foot into a foot opening in the gate, which action compresses springs disposed about pivot pins between the gate and the barrier frame and draws an extended latch downwardly and out of a latch receiver that is bottomless, which action unlatches and frees the gate from the barrier frame such that the gate can be swung open. Downward travel of the gate is minimized until a foot pushes a pivoting stop out of the way.

SLIDING PANEL LATCHING METHODS

Methods for releasably latching a sliding panel can include providing a striker coupled to a structure such that a sliding panel is movable relative to the striker, and providing a latch coupled to the sliding panel. The latch can be rotatable and include a striker interface to engage the striker, and the striker interface can at least partially define a striker opening to receive the striker. The latch can be rotatable to a latch position and to a receive/release position. The methods can include moving the sliding panel toward the striker with the latch in the receive/release position until the striker engages the striker interface of the latch causing the latch to move to the latch position where the striker is secured for striker opening of the latch, and causing the latch to move to the receive/release position facilitating release of the striker from the striker opening of the latch.
