A dual ergonomic walking cane system that is easy and comfortable to use employs an anterior and a posterior cane connected by at least one releasable coupling for use in one hand or following separation allowing the use of one cane in each hand with an optional ball grip on the anterior cane. A guide on one cane consists of a pair of spaced apart guide members extending from one cane toward the other cane for receiving the shaft of the other cane when inserted between them and then held in place by gravity, by an alignment coupling or by magnets. When handles located on each cane are moved apart the canes can be easily disengaged enabling the anterior cane to be quickly removed from the guide while the canes are at or close to horizontal alignment.

Collapsable safety cane with shock absorbing feature

A shock absorbing handle for a white cane for blind people or visually impaired, incorporates resilient members within its handle, primarily in the form of a spring located in the handle region of the cane, in order to cushion the impact when the lower tip of the cane encounters an obstruction. A length of resilient cord, such as a bungee cord, extends from the top of the handle of the cane, to the lower tip of its bottom most segment, so that when the cord is stretched, the various segments can be separated from their connecting ferrules, and contracted into a smaller size for packaging. The various segments can be stretched, through their resilient cord, and secured together, to form the lengthy white cane, having cushioning impact provided within its handle, to relieve stress upon the user, when obstructions are encountered during usage of the cane during its application.

There is a plastic sleeve (4), on which a clamping lever (6) is hinged against the force of a spring element (10). The clamping lever (6) has a first lever arm (12) for releasing the clamping device (1) and a second lever arm (11) arranged on the other side. The second lever arm (11) has a protrusion (9) which is arranged radially to the pole axis (36) and which engages into and through a radial through-opening (19) in the plastic sleeve (4) and engages into a groove (22) of the inner tube (3) in a formfitting manner in order to axially secure the two tubes (2, 3).

Compact folding cane

A compact and collapsible cane includes a handle, a tip, and at least two collapsible cane segments joining the handle to the tip. In some aspects, the cane segments are configurable in an unfolded configuration and a folded configuration, where, in the folded configuration, a flat or nesting surface of one of the cane segments abuts a corresponding flat or nesting surface of an adjacent cane segment. In various examples, the collapsible cane includes a hinge with two parallel pivot axes between the two collapsible cane segments. In some examples, the cane includes a connector system with a male connector and a female connector connected by a shock cord between the two collapsible cane segments.

Compact folding cane

A compact and collapsible cane includes a handle, a tip, and at least two collapsible cane segments joining the handle to the tip. A non-slip self-supporting orthopedic device includes: an upper disk slidably engaged with the rod and externally provided with a hinge; a lower disk, connected with the orthopedic device allowing the elastomeric foot to project downward, and externally provided with a hinge; and arms with upper element, lower element and spring adapted to hold the arm in folded configuration. The movable mechanism can take an enlarged configuration, in which the upper disk contacts the lower disk and the arms are folded. In an elongated configuration, the arms are in axial configuration following the pressing of a button connected to a kinematic mechanism causing the arms to take the axial configuration. The reversible connection system allows the reversible disconnection of the lower elements of the arms preselected by the hinge, determining the lifting of the entire arm in a vertical position by rotation around the hinge.

An ambulatory aid, such as a walking cane, including an elongate shaft, a handle at a first, upper end of the shaft, and a foot piece at a second, lower end of the shaft opposite the first end. The cane shaft can be adjustable at a top end, middle, a bottom end, or any combination thereof. The top of the cane shaft is aligned at a more posterior angle then the bottom of the shaft. The handle of the cane is elongated and extends posterior and anterior to the shaft. In a particular embodiment, a posterior portion of the handle is longer, and optionally larger in surface area than an anterior portion of the handle such that the handle is configured so that when the person's hand is gripping the handle, the handle will be offset over the shaft.
