Method for operating a building closure

A method for operating a building closure is disclosed. The building closure may be in the shape of a sectional door or a garage door. The position of the building closure and a motor current of a drive device is monitored by a control apparatus. When the building closure stands still, an electrical drive device arrests the building enclosure by providing an electrically conducting connection between winding of the drive device to ground. The position detection device continues to monitor a signal change such that in response to the signal change, the arresting is suspended and the electrical drive device is at least partially energized.

Method for operating a motor vehicle lock

A method for operating a motor vehicle lock by a lock control. A catch of the motor vehicle lock may be moved into an open position, into a preliminary latching position and into a main latching position, wherein the catch is or may be brought into holding engagement with a lock striker. A cinching element and a cinching drive are provided. During a cinching routine, the catch is being moved into its main latching position by the cinching drive via the cinching element. A manual movement of the catch into the preliminary latching position causes the cinching routine to be initiated by the lock control. During the cinching routine, the catch performs a first catch movement in its opening direction from the preliminary latching position into a safety position and a second catch movement in its closing direction from the safety position into the main latching position.

Door module having carrier with electric latch

A door, a door module therefor, and a method of constructing a door for a motor vehicle is provided. The door module includes a carrier; an electrical latch secured to the carrier, and a latch control system. The latch control system has an inside micro-switch operably connected to the electrical latch via an inner electrical connector, and an outside micro-switch operably connected to the electrical latch via an outer electrical connector. Electrical communication between the electrical latch and latch control system, initiated via selective actuation of the inside and outside micro-switches, provides full normal operation of a vehicle door without need for mechanical linkages.

Methods of assembling thermally enhanced multi-component window

A method of assembling a window includes positioning an insulating material in a frame thermal break defined by a middle portion of a frame intermediate a first side and a second side of the window. The method also includes connecting a cladding to the frame. The frame includes a first material visible on the first side of the window. The cladding includes a second material visible on the second side of the window. The method also includes connecting a first glass pane to a second glass pane to form an insulated glass unit and positioning the insulated glass unit in the frame. The method further includes aligning the frame thermal break and a pocket of the insulated glass unit such that a central plane of the pocket extends through a middle portion of the frame thermal break. The frame thermal break and the pocket define a continuous thermal break extending through the window.

HVAC access panel latch systems and methods

In an embodiment of the present disclosure, a latch assembly for an access panel of a housing includes a latch structure having a first surface, a second surface, and an intermediate step therebetween. The latch assembly also includes a fastener configured to facilitate coupling of the first surface to the access panel, and a locking system configured to engage with a structural support of the housing via the second surface. The locking system is configured to be rotated to secure the second surface to the structural support and rotated to release the second surface from the structural support.

Devices and methods for mounting door frames

The present invention relates to a door frame, particularly a door frame for a pre-hung door assembly, which is foldable to minimize storage space and to allow for enhanced logistic efficiencies. The door frame contains parallel, spaced apart, vertical jambs and a horizontal header connecting the top ends of the jambs. Each of the jambs and the horizontal header contains a front section and back section that are hingedly joined so that then can be folded on to each other. The hingedly joined front and back sections allow the door fame to be foldable to minimize space occupied during storage.

Bi-fold door pin brace
10794108 · 2020-10-06 ·

A bi-fold door pin brace braces the exposed shafts of bi-fold door pins against the force exerted on the pin assemblies by door movement out of alignment with the track. The bi-fold door pin brace has a header mounting plate generally defines a generally planar surface and is configured to mount into a door header, ceiling, or the like. A coupling plate extends from the header mounting plate in a plane angularly offset therefrom. A bi-fold pin shaft bracing plate defines a third generally planar surface that extends from the coupling plate in a plane generally parallel to the header mounting plate. The bi-fold pin shaft bracing plate is configured to engage with and provide support to a bi-fold pin shaft, and can be used in conjunction with or as part of an assembly with a bi-fold door stop.

Vehicle door opening/closing control device

The controller detects an operation determined according to a detection result from a handle sensor that detects at least one of contact by, or the approach of, a hand of an operator. The controller performs control so as to actuate a door lock actuation section and unlock the door lock in cases in which the door lock is in a locked state, a pre-registered electronic key has been authenticated by an authentication section, and a predetermined first operation has been detected. The controller performs control so as to actuate a door latch actuation section and release the door latch in cases in which the door lock is in an unlocked state and a predetermined second operation has been detected.

Method and mechanism for automatically detecting door or window faults

The present invention discloses a method for automatically detecting door or window faults, comprising the following steps: mounting a displacement sensor at at least one monitoring position of the door or window frame and leaf and/or door or window hardware to monitor a relative position change of the door or window frame and leaf and/or relative displacement of the hardware at said at least one monitoring position; and connecting the displacement sensor to a controller which judges whether the relative position change of the door or window frame and leaf and/or relative displacement of the hardware at said at least one monitoring position exceeds a displacement threshold, and thereby perform combined judgment for door or window faults. The present invention further discloses a mechanism for automatically detecting door or window faults. The present invention can automatically detect possible faults occurring during use of the door or window, and thereby eliminate hidden risks endangering the user and other persons' personal safety, and exhibit important social significance.
