Electric submersible pump (ESP) deployment method and tools to accomplish method for oil wells
A deployment method and set of alternative tools for deploying, exchanging, and repairing an Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) and pipe strings utilizing a lubricator and standard pressure control equipment (valves, Blow Out Preventers); this method permits a rig less deployment of an ESP with well control maintained using a short length lubricator and standard pressure containment tools. This method defines a specific set of tools to be incorporated in the method to achieve the assembly of the ESP at surface and deployment in a single run to set the ESP at the pumping depth. This method facilitates the orientation and alignment of the terminals of the ESP motor and gauge and creates a pressure barrier through the ESP string during makeup and break out of the ESP.

DOWN HOLE SURVEYING
In one aspect, there is disclosed an apparatus for indexing a device about an indexing axis, the apparatus comprising an indexing drive mechanism comprising a drive portion configured in driving engagement with a driven member for indexing the device about the indexing axis. The driven member is arranged in operable association with an assembly comprising at least one resilient element arranged so as to be capable of transitioning to/from a state of bias such that exposure of the device to any undesirable physical forces is reduced to at least some extent.
Plug retrieval and installation mechanism
A rigid chain actuator (201) including a tool body (203) having a bore (204) with a chain (206) at least partially disposed in a housing (211) coupled to the tool body. Additionally, the rigid chain actuator includes a chain extension/retraction mechanism to extend the chain from the housing into the bore and recoil the chain from the bore into the housing. Furthermore, the chain may translate a force onto at least one wellbore tool through the bore.

Releasing a downhole tool
Techniques for releasing a well tool string from a wireline release tool includes initiating actuation of a linear actuator of the wireline release tool, the actuator coupled to an inner mandrel on which a retractable latch rides, the retractable latch including a profile formed on an outer surface of the latch that is coupled to the well tool string; actuating the actuator to move the inner mandrel of the wireline release tool to remove support of the profile by a ramp formed on the outer surface, the profile retracted toward the inner mandrel based on the movement of the inner mandrel; decoupling the profile from the well tool string based on retraction of the profile toward the inner mandrel; and moving the wireline release tool into a position to release the wireline release tool from the well tool string.

SEALED DOWNHOLE EQUIPMENT AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE EQUIPMENT
A method and apparatus for preventing fluid flow and contamination to a cement body includes a resin cap covering an exposed end of the cement body. The cement body may attach an inner sleeve to an outer sleeve. The fluid flowing through the outer sleeve is prevented from contacting the exposed surface by the resin cap. Resin caps at both ends of the cement body along with resin layers along the side may be included. The resin prevents contamination and creation of micro-annuli in the cement body.
