SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A POSITION OF A CUTTER BLADE FOR A CASING CUTTER
A casing cutting system including a tubular having a first end, a second end, an inner surface defining a passage extending between the first end and the second end, an outer surface, and a window extending through the inner surface and the outer surface. A deployment member is mounted in the passage. A plurality of cutter blades is arranged in the passage at the window. The plurality of cutter blades is pivotally mounted to the deployment member. A sensor is operatively coupled to the deployment member. The sensor is operable sense an amount of travel of each of the plurality of cutters.
Self-destructible frac ball enclosed within a destructible ball retainer
A self-destructible frac ball is described herein. The self-destructible frac ball is configured to seal a hydraulic flow path through a fluid conduit of a frac plug when engaged on a ball seat of the frac plug. The self-destructible frac ball includes an activation mechanism configured to activate a destructive medium in response to the satisfaction of at least one predetermined condition. The self-destructible frac ball also includes the destructive medium, which is configured to destroy the self-destructible frac ball and a corresponding destructible ball retainer when activated by the activation mechanism. The destruction of the self-destructible frac ball and the corresponding destructible ball retainer reestablishes the hydraulic flow path through the fluid conduit of the frac plug.
DOWNHOLE CUTTING AND SEALING APPARATUS
A downhole tool for conveyance within a tubular secured in a wellbore extending into a subterranean formation. The downhole tool includes a sealing material and a laser apparatus operable to cut a slot in the tubular. The downhole tool is operable to provide melted sealing material within the slot.
PLUG OF EXTENDED REACH
A settable down hole tool is of increased drillability and/or of increased expansibility. The improvement in drillability can be caused by fracturing cast iron slips into a large number of small pieces that can be circulated out of a well without further reduction in size. The improvement in expansibility can be partially caused by providing an expander cone of increased hardness thereby allowing an increased angle on the expander cone and slips. The improvement in expansibility can be partially caused by increasing the thickness of the slips.
Treatment Methods for Water or Gas Reduction in Hydrocarbon Production Wells
Systems and methods for reducing unwanted water and/or gas intrusion into a hydrocarbon production wellbore. The system includes a treatment injection tool for injecting a treatment agent into portions of the formation surrounding the wellbore and a tunneling tool for forming one or more tunnels within the formation. Sensors provide real-time information about wellbore parameters during treatment so that wellbore analysis can be conducted.
Downhole tubular milling apparatus, especially suitable for deployment on coiled tubing
An apparatus for cutting and/or milling of tubulars in a wellbore, especially using coiled tubing. An elongated main body has a longitudinal bore, with a piston slidably positioned in the bore. The piston is connected to one or more operating arms which are rotatably connected to the main body. The connection between the piston and the operating arms may be a pinned connection or a geared connection, both of which provide for a positive connection between the piston and the operating arms. Cutter bases are connected to the cutter arms, with a number of cutters mounted to the cutter bases. Fluid flow down the coiled tubing and through the main body bore pushes the piston downwardly, opening the operating arms and cutter bases and permitting the apparatus to be pulled up into the lower end of a tubular string for cutting and/or milling.
Swivel anchor
A swivel anchor of a drill string comprises a slip arrangement, comprising a slip body and at least one slip element; upper and lower connections attachable to further components, wherein the slip arrangement is rotatable about a longitudinal axis with respect to the upper and lower connections and a slip joint, comprising upper and lower components, wherein the upper and lower components may move relative to each other parallel with a longitudinal axis, between an open and closed positions, wherein in the open position a longitudinal displacement between the upper and lower components is greater than when the slip joint is in the closed position, and wherein when the slip joint is in the closed position, the swivel anchor length is less than when in the open position.
Drilling and milling tool
A drilling assembly comprises a drill bit and a cutting assembly. The drilling assembly forms a longitudinal center axis. The drill bit and cutting assembly fastened to a rotatable spline drive assembly. The cutting assembly being resiliently displaceable to the drill bit along the center axis such that in a first position the drill bit is surrounded by the cutting assembly and in a second position a free end portion of the drill bit projects beyond the cutting assembly along the center axis. The cutting assembly comprises an endmill which comprises a central through hole which is complementary to the outer diameter of the drill bit. A method for cutting swarfs created by drilling with the endmill is described.

METHOD FOR PREPARING A WELLBORE
There is provided a method for preparing a wellbore for insertion of a barrier, the method comprising: providing a section of tubing or formation within the wellbore having a modified internal surface that is shaped such that a region adjacent the modified internal surface can be filled with barrier material and the barrier material can solidify to interlock with and be anchored by the modified internal surface.
