MAGNETIC FISHING TOOL AND USE THEREOF IN FISHING OPERATIONS
20220025728 · 2022-01-27 · ·

A method of removing a target fish from a wellbore includes preparing a fishing assembly having a magnetized pipe coupled to an end of a work string. The fishing assembly is run into the wellbore, and the magnetized pipe is positioned at an effective position in which a threaded end of the target fish is aligned with a threaded end of the magnetized pipe by magnetic attraction between the magnetized pipe and the target fish. A threaded connection is made up between the threaded end of the target fish and the threaded end of the magnetized pipe. The fishing assembly with the attached target fish is then retrieved from the wellbore to a surface location.

An assembly disposed within a subterranean wellbore can include a first dislodging tool coupled to a bottom end of a tubing string, wherein the first dislodging tool, when enabled at a first time, performs a first action to free at least one service tool, disposed below the first dislodging tool in the subterranean wellbore, from being stuck.

TORSIONAL OSCIALLATION CONTROL TOOL GENERATING HIGH-AMPLITUDE AT VARIABLE FREQUENCIES
20210363847 · 2021-11-25 ·

A lateral oscillation tool for using in a drill string performing a drilling operation includes a fluid driven, positive displacement motor and a rotating mandrel coupled to the positive displacement motor. At least one unbalanced mass is coupled to the rotating mandrel to generate lateral oscillation of the lateral oscillation tool. The unbalanced mass may include a plurality of tuning channels into which a high-density material may be selectively introduced to alter the positional mass of the unbalanced mass. When paired with the or variable electric drive motor turbine powered, lateral impact forces may be adjusted real-time and through the downhole adaptive learning software.

Retrieval of bottom hole assembly components from a subterranean well

An apparatus can include a cable head assembly with a cable head stinger connected to a weak link, and a release assembly including a bushing that radially outwardly supports a dog in engagement with an internal groove formed in an outer housing. A method can include connecting a bottom hole assembly to a wireline, the connecting including connecting the wireline to a cable head stinger of a cable head assembly; deploying the wireline and bottom hole assembly into the well; applying a tensile force to the wireline, thereby breaking a weak link of the cable head assembly; and then displacing the cable head stinger into engagement with a bushing of the release assembly, thereby permitting a dog to displace radially inwardly out of engagement with an internal groove in the release assembly.

DOWNHOLE PULSE GENERATION
20220003063 · 2022-01-06 ·

A method and system for downhole pulse generation determines an optimal frequency and, in some embodiments, amplitude of axial pressure pulses to maximize the rate of penetration. Specifically, one or more sensors may be disposed on or near an axial oscillation tool that provides near real-time raw sensor data relating to speed, velocity, and acceleration of the tool. With this sensor data, an optimal set of parameters, namely an optimal frequency and, in some embodiments, amplitude may be determined based on the hydraulic conditions and frictional forces of the actual drilling environment. An optimizing control system may directly communicate these parameters to the axial oscillation tool or pass the parameters to an axial oscillation tool control system that controls the operation of the tool. Advantageously, frictional forces may be substantially reduced, the rate of penetration may be substantially enhanced, and power consumption may be intelligently managed.
