Buoyancy assist tool

A buoyancy assist tool has an outer case and a rupture disk connected in the outer case. A sleeve is disposed in the outer case and movable from first to second position in the outer case. A rupture disk membrane of a rupture disk prevents the sleeve from moving to the second position prior to the rupture disk membrane rupturing. The outer case is configured to be connected in a well casing. A lock ring holds the sleeve in the first position.

Drill pipe with dissolvable layer

Presented herein are apparatus and methods that alleviate incidence of stuck pipes in downhole environments. In some embodiments, the apparatus and methods described herein include a drill pipe for drilling operations including: a dissolvable layer deposited on a portion of an outer surface of the drill pipe; and a tunnel connected to the dissolvable layer.

Freeing stuck subterranean service tools

An assembly disposed within a subterranean wellbore can include a first dislodging tool coupled to a bottom end of a tubing string, wherein the first dislodging tool, when enabled at a first time, performs a first action to free at least one service tool, disposed below the first dislodging tool in the subterranean wellbore, from being stuck.

Drilling apparatus and method for releasing drilling rods stuck in surrounding ground

A drilling apparatus and a method for releasing rods stuck in surrounding ground use a torsional device for releasing the drilling assembly and induce centrifugal forced vibrations and bending vibrations in the drilling rods, facilitating the release from positions stuck inside the drilled hole. The apparatus allows the available power of the motor drilling device to be fully applied for generating periodic forced vibrations useful for detaching the drilling rods stuck in the surrounding ground.

FLUIDIC PULSE ACTIVATED AGITATOR

A fluidic agitator includes a seamless insert body having an outer enclosure wall defining an enclosed cavity and a plurality of inner channel walls arranged to define an inlet chamber, a vortex chamber, and a feedback chamber within the enclosed cavity. The inlet chamber, the vortex chamber, and the feedback chamber create a hydraulic pulse in a fluid stream received in the enclosed cavity.

AUTONOMOUS DOWNHOLE TOOL
20220034197 · 2022-02-03 · ·

An autonomous tool includes a tool body and turbine wheels coupled to the tool body. Each turbine wheel is retractable into the tool body and extendable out of the tool body. When the turbine wheels are extended out of the tool body, the axial axes of the turbine wheels can be positioned parallel to the axial axis of the tool body, allowing generation of mechanical energy from a fluid stream moving along the tool body, or positioned perpendicular to the axial axis of tool body, allowing the turbine wheels to roll along a tubular wall. Electrical generators are mechanically coupled to the turbine wheels to convert the mechanical energy produced by the turbine wheels into electrical energy. An energy storage stores the electrical energy for use by components of the tool.
