DOPED BIODEGRADABLE ELASTOMER FOR DOWNHOLE APPLICATIONS
20180347307 · 2018-12-06 ·

Compositions and methods are provided that are beneficial for use in downhole applications, especially oil and gas well bores. A composition includes an elastomer doped with a dopant. The presence of the dopant increases a rate of microbial degradation of the elastomer by a microbe. A method includes forming an article including a doped polymer. The doped polymer includes an elastomer doped with a dopant. The method also includes placing the article in a service environment. The presence of the dopant in the doped polymer increases a rate of microbial degradation of the elastomer by a microbe in the service environment.

Anti-alteration wellhead vault
10145213 · 2018-12-04 ·

A wellhead vault for preventing alteration of the wellhead of a water supply. The vault is a heavy bell-shaped structure, formed of concrete, and having a downwardly facing concavity, and the vault placed over, with the concavity around the wellhead. The vaults too heavy to be removed by human lifting. Lifting elements are provided to allow the vault to be installed and removed by heavy construction equipment. The vault has a vent that communicates between the concavity and the outside, allowing air, but not liquid, liquid or solid contaminants, or animals, to pass through.

Apparatus and method for stripping solids and fluids from a string used in drilling or servicing wells

A seal for replacement within a generally cylindrical passage of a supporting body has three or more overlapping sealing members arranged circumferentially around the passage in the supporting body and forming an annular seal around the pipe inserted into the passage. The sealing members are configured to accommodate an expansion of the pipe by moving to an expanded position by circumferential sliding contact of the sealing members along circumferentially slanted cuts between the sealing members.

Pitless Unit with Non-Corrosive Material on Wetted Surfaces

There is disclosed a connector which is sometimes referred to as a pitless unit in industry for use in a pumping system including a pump, well casing, a discharge pipe to guide liquid horizontally away from the pump, and a drop pipe to guide the liquid up from the pump towards the discharge pipe. The connector acts to connect the drop pipe and discharge pipe in fluidic communication while allowing the pump therebeneath to be accessed from the surface of the ground. The connector features an outer housing and internal spool which is locatable in the housing in a seated position. An interior surface of the housing and surfaces of the spool which collectively define a chamber through which the liquid flows, when the spool is in the seated position, are weld cladded with a metallic cladding material so as to resist corrosion and erosion of these wetted surfaces of the connector.

Support systems, apparatus and methods for use with well structures, which may be used to reduce the cost and/or risk of performing procedures on assets, for example, prior to or during well abandonment. A support system includes an actuation system for use with a support member. The support member may be configured for complementary engagement with the actuation system. A cross-over section is configured for use at a lower end of the support member and includes a body portion and a well structure portion. The bore of the cross-over section changes from a first diameter at the body portion to a second diameter at the well structure portion, the second diameter being greater than the first diameter.
