Multilateral well access systems and related methods of performing wellbore interventions
A method of performing an intervention operation at a multilateral well includes deploying a directional guide to an axial position within the multilateral well at which a lateral section of the multilateral well is located. The method further includes installing a main body of the directional guide to an inner surface profile arranged along a casing that surrounds the directional guide at the axial position. The method further includes closing a bore that passes through the main body along an elongate axis of the main body. The method further includes deflecting an intervention assembly along a guide surface of the main body into the lateral section. The method further includes controlling the intervention assembly to perform the intervention operation within the lateral section.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PERMANENT CARBON DIOXIDE SEQUESTRATION USING A RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE
The present invention provides a system and method to mineralize CO.sub.2 into peridotite rocks in a controlled and efficient manner removing carbon permanently from the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide sequestration into peridotite rocks happens naturally by means of natural weathering. However, this process is so slow and might take thousands of years to transform considerable amount of CO.sub.2 into carbonate rocks. The present invention, however, shortens the time of mineralization considerably in a controlled and quantifiable manner. This is typically done by injecting CO.sub.2 into peridotite rock formation and creating an efficient reaction pathways and conditions for the mineralization reaction to happen and therefore store CO.sub.2 by conversion into magnesite (MgCO.sub.3) and calcite (CaCO.sub.3).
Torque To Linear Displacement For Downhole Power Regulation
A downhole turbine may include a stator disposed in a turbine housing, a rotor disposed between the stator and the turbine housing and wherein the rotor includes an outer housing, a gap that separates the stator and the rotor, wherein the gap is oil filled, and one or more blades disposed on the outer housing between the turbine housing and the rotor. The downhole turbine may further include a compressible medium attached to the outer housing between the stator and the outer housing, wherein the compressible medium is separated from the stator by the gap, and one or more magnets attached to an inner surface of the compressible medium, wherein the one or more magnets are separated from the stator by the gap.
SENSOR NODE DEVICE, SENSOR NODE SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR MAPPING HYDRAULIC FRACTURES USING THE SAME
A sensor node system for mapping hydraulic fractures may include a localization system that identifies location information of the sensor node device with respect to an area of interest in a rock formation. The location information may include various magnetization parameters indicative of various signal strengths surrounding the sensor node device. The sensor node device may include a transceiver that exchanges signals with a base station and at least one other sensor node device. The transceiver establishes a communication link between the base station and the sensor node device. The transceiver may monitor at least one other communication link between the at least one other sensor node device and the base station. The sensor node device may include a processor that identifies distance information based on the location information and a predetermined number of signals associated to the various signal strengths surrounding the sensor node device.
DOWNHOLE TOOL INTERFACE
A downhole tool interface is connected to a downhole tool at a surface location. The downhole tool interface retrieves downhole information and wirelessly transmits the downhole information to a remote computing device. The downhole tool interface remains connected to the downhole tool during storage and/or transportation. The downhole tool interface collects status information to transmit to a remote computing device, allowing a drilling operator to better understand the conditions during storage and/or transportation.

Controlling range constraints for real-time drilling
A system and method for controlling a drilling tool inside a wellbore makes use of Bayesian optimization with range constraints. A computing device samples observed values for controllable drilling parameters such as weight-on-bit (WOB) and drill bit rotational speed in RPM and evaluates a selected drilling parameter such a rate-of-penetration (ROP) for the observed values using an objective function. Range constraints can be continuously learned by the computing device as the range constraints change. A Bayesian optimization, subject to the range constraints and the observed values, can produce an optimized value for the controllable drilling parameter to achieve a predicted value for the selected drilling parameter. The system can then control the drilling tool using the optimized value to achieve the predicted value for the selected drilling parameter.
Downhole power generation system and method
A downhole power generation includes a power generation module for providing power to a load. A turbine is driven by flow of a downhole fluid to rotate. A generator is coupled with the turbine for converting rotational energy from the turbine to electrical energy, and an AC-DC rectifier is coupled with the generator for converting an alternating voltage from the generator to a direct voltage. A power conversion circuit couples the AC-DC rectifier with the load. The power conversion circuit is configured for providing a first power to the load when the load is in a working mode and providing a second power to the load when the load is in a non-working mode. The second power is less than the first power. A downhole power generation method is also disclosed.
