Methods and systems to optimize downhole condition identification and response using different types of downhole sensing tools
A system includes different types of downhole sensing tools deployed in a borehole, wherein the different types of downhole sensing tools are optimized to identify a downhole condition based on a predetermined downhole evaluation plan that accounts for sensing tool availability and performance constraints. The system also includes at least one processing unit configured to analyze measurements collected by the different types of downhole sensing tools, wherein the collected measurements are analyzed together to identify the downhole condition. The system also includes at least one device that performs an operation in response to the identified downhole condition.
Logging a well
A downhole tool system includes an electrical submersible pump (ESP) assembly configured to couple to a downhole conveyance that includes a production fluid flow path for a production fluid from a subterranean formation; and a logging sub-assembly directly coupled to a downhole end of the ESP assembly and including a length of logging cable spoolable off a cable spool of the logging sub-assembly within a wellbore.
CORROSION EVALUATION OF NESTED CASINGS VIA PULSED EDDY CURRENT
Methods and systems pertaining to a processing system and a downhole logging tool for investigating nested tubulars in a borehole. The downhole logging tool includes a transmitter coil for emitting a broadband excitation signal including one or more step excitations. The downhole logging tool also includes receiver coils including at least two receiver coils spaced apart from the transmitter coil at respective first and second distances from the transmitter, the first and second distances being distinct from each other, and each receiver coil being able to receive a response signal resulting from the excitation signal. The downhole logging tool also includes an acquisition system for recording the excitation signal and the response signal of each receiver coil over time. The processing system derives information indicative of variations in individual thicknesses of the nested casing tubulars based on variations of the response signals over time.
DOWNHOLE NESTED PIPE INSPECTION USING HYBRID FREQUENCY AND TIME DOMAIN LOGGING TECHNIQUE
Electromagnetic logging tools to inspect nested pipes using hybrid frequency- and time-domain logging techniques are disclosed. The disclosed logging system and processing workflows combine frequency-domain and time-domain techniques to overcome the disadvantages of using frequency-domain or time domain tools in isolation.

Space mapping optimization to characterize multiple concentric pipes
Apparatus and methods can be implemented to monitor the condition of the production and intermediate casing strings in oil and gas field operations. A series of measurements can be made in a multi-pipe structure and received responses can be operated on by employing a mapping optimization procedure in which a surrogate model is updated. Estimates of one or more properties of the pipes of the multi-pipe structure can be generated using coefficients of the updated surrogate model. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING A CONVERTED WAVE ATTENUATED VERTICAL SEISMIC PROFILE OF A HYDROCARBON RESERVOIR
A method of determining a shear-wave attenuated vertical component vertical seismic profile (VSP) dataset is disclosed. The method includes, obtaining a multi-component VSP dataset, including a vertical and a horizontal component, transforming the vertical component into a vertical spectrum and the horizontal component into a horizontal spectrum, and designing a band-pass filter based, at least in part, on an energetic signal of the horizontal spectrum. The method further includes determining a muted vertical amplitude spectrum by applying the pass-band filter to an amplitude spectrum of the vertical spectrum, determining an estimated noise model based on the muted vertical amplitude spectrum and the vertical spectrum; and determining the shear-wave attenuated vertical component VSP dataset by adaptively subtracting the estimated noise model from the vertical component of the multi-component VSP dataset. A system including a seismic source, a plurality of seismic receivers, and a seismic processor for executing the method is disclosed.
