Methods for shaping fibrous material and treatment compositions therefor
The present invention relates to a method of shaping a fibrous material and treatment compositions therefor. The method comprises providing a treatment composition comprising an active agent and a photocatalyst, applying the treatment composition to the fibrous material to form a treated fibrous material, mechanically shaping the treated fibrous material, and exposing the treated fibrous material to electromagnetic radiation. The treatment composition comprises an active agent, wherein the active agent comprises a high-polarity functional group, preferably selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl groups, carboxylic acid groups, and combinations thereof; and a photocatalyst.
Hair Styling Device and Method
A hair styling device includes a needle having a shaft with a first-end and a second-end, a tail terminating with the second-end, and an eye formed from the shaft proximate the first-end and the tail. The hair styling is useful for creating protective hair styles when manipulated by a hair stylist.
Hair Care Tool and Related Methods
In an exemplary embodiment, a tool for hair care generally includes a handle, a supporting structure extending distally from the handle, and a plurality of curved teeth having curved cross sections. Each tooth terminates in a rounded tip. A lateral one of the teeth extends generally distally from a lateral portion of the supporting structure. At least some others of the teeth extend generally distally from a distal portion of the supporting structure. Tool embodiments can alleviate hair care and styling problems encountered by users who have curly, coarse, and/or coiled hair.
METHOD FOR CREATING, EXTENDING OR REPAIRING HAIR LOCK
In an embodiment of the disclosed principles, methods and systems are provided for generating and applying a lock of hair. In an embodiment, the method entails generally providing a hair group, dividing the hair group into more than one and no more than three subgroups, processing the multiple subgroups via multi-stage braiding, if there are three subgroups, or multi-stage twisting, if there are two subgroups, with the multi-stage braiding or multi-stage twisting be interrupted by a regrouping of the existing subgroups into an equivalent number of different subgroups, and following a multi-stage braiding with a multi-stage twisting, and following a multi-stage twisting with a multi-stage braiding, until a desired lock length is attained. Multiple such locks may be affixed to a person's head to provide a locks hairstyle to the person.

Contoured And Chambered Hair Styling Device
Disclosed is a hair styling device and its employment in a specific styling method. The device comprises an elastomeric block having an elliptically-shaped substantially smooth top surface, a patterned, sculptured and textured bottom surface, and a continuous side panel integrally connected to the edges of both the top surface and the bottom surface. The bottom surface is further constructed with parallel V-shaped channels and a plurality of regularly-spaced circular chambers, the chambers being orthogonal to the bottom surface. The device is used by placing the bottom-located channels and chambers against sections of hair while simultaneously using varying pressure and rotary movement of the bottom surface upon the hair. In this manner the hair may be styled into a multiplicity of twists or spirals.
