Method of starting up a thermoreactor
A method of starting up a thermoreactor arranged in an exhaust gas flow of an internal combustion engine includes igniting combustion gas by spark ignition in at least one cylinder of the internal combustion engine. The exhaust gas resulting from the combustion of the combustion gas is fed at least partially to the thermoreactor as an exhaust gas flow. The temperature of the exhaust gas resulting from combustion of the combustion gas is increased by the moment in time of the spark ignition being selected later in comparison with a present moment in time.

A resilient element is arranged between the drive element and the output element and comprises a center section and two end sections. The center section is used to transfer torque between the drive element and the output element, and wherein the center section and two end sections are coupled to the drive element or to the output element.
CAR PROVIDED WITH AN EXHAUST SYSTEM WITH AERODYNAMIC EFFECT
A car having: two front wheels; two rear wheels; a bottom wall, which delimits a lower surface, which faces a road surface and, in use, is brushed by an air flow flowing under the car; an internal combustion engine; and an exhaust system, which is coupled to the internal combustion engine and is provided with an exhaust duct, which originates from the internal combustion engine and has an end chamber, which ends with an outlet opening, through which exhaust gases are released into the atmosphere. The end chamber of the exhaust duct has at least one movable partition, which can be moved to different positions so as to change the width of the outlet opening. The movable partition delimits a lower surface of the end chamber, which faces the road surface and, in use, is brushed by the air flow flowing under the car.
Exhaust heat recovery apparatus for vehicle having a longitudinal valve separating two parallel exhaust flow paths
An exhaust heat recovery apparatus includes: a housing having a first exhaust passage and a second exhaust passage, an exhaust inlet fitting, and an exhaust outlet fitting; a heat exchanger disposed in the first exhaust passage; and a switching valve having a slide gate which is movable in a longitudinal direction of the housing so as to allow a flow of exhaust gases to be switched between the first exhaust passage and the second exhaust passage, wherein the first exhaust passage is parallel to the second exhaust passage, and the slide gate is movable between the first exhaust passage and the second exhaust passage.
ASSEMBLY AND MOTOR VEHICLE
An assembly for a motor vehicle has an exhaust gas-carrying pipe in which an adjustable element is arranged to control an exhaust gas flow through the exhaust gas-carrying pipe. An actuator is used to adjust the adjustable element. The actuator is connected in a planar manner to a vehicle structure via a connecting surface.
Muffler unit
A muffler unit includes: an inner cylinder connected with a first exhaust pipe; a first outlet pipe that is connected with a downstream end of the inner cylinder and through which exhaust gas is discharged; an outer cylinder that houses thereinside the inner cylinder and defines, between the outer cylinder and an outer surface of the inner cylinder, an expansion chamber communicating with the second exhaust pipe; and a second outlet pipe that houses thereinside the first outlet pipe and defines, between the second outlet pipe and an outer surface of the first outlet pipe, a path connected with the expansion chamber to thereby be used for discharging the exhaust gas. Accordingly, there is provided the muffler unit having a size reduced compared with a configuration including two mufflers disposed in parallel with each other.
EXHAUST HEAT RECOVERY APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE
Internal combustion engine system
A first intake manifold is connected to a first group of cylinders, a second distinct intake manifold is connected to a second group of cylinders and a first, respectively a second, exhaust manifold for receiving the exhaust gas emitted from the first, respectively the second, group of cylinders. An EGR line is connected to the first and second exhaust manifolds. A mixing unit includes a four-way valve having a first inlet connected to an air line, a second inlet connected to the EGR line, a first outlet connected to the first intake manifold and a second outlet connected to the second intake manifold. The first inlet is connected to the air line, the second inlet is connected to the EGR line. The first outlet and said second outlet form a substantially X-shape. The first inlet and said second inlet are coaxial. The first outlet and second outlet are coaxial such that the first inlet is diagonally facing the second inlet and the first outlet is diagonally facing the second outlet.
Systems and methods for regulating performance characteristics of an exhaust system with a tri-modal valve
A system for regulating performance characteristics of a vehicle includes an engine configured to output an exhaust gas. The system further comprises an emissions system in fluid communication with the engine, the emissions system configured to clean the exhaust gas. The system further comprises a valve system in fluid communication with the emissions system, the valve system configured to regulate a flow of the exhaust gas. The valve system comprises a vane movable between a forward open position, a closed position, and a rear open position. The valve system further comprises a biasing member configured to bias the vane in the forward open position. The valve system further comprises a bypass channel configured to provide a bypass flow path for the exhaust gas to control a backpressure on the vane.
Method of controlling regeneration of particulate filter, exhaust system for executing the same, and non-transitory computer readable recording media
A method of controlling regeneration of a particulate filter which traps particulate matter contained in an exhaust gas may include: raising, by a controller, a temperature of the exhaust gas to regenerate the particulate filter by burning the trapped particulate matter when an amount of the particulate matter trapped in the particulate filter is greater than or equal to a predetermined amount. Raising the temperature of the exhaust gas may include: raising the temperature of the exhaust gas based on a first temperature difference compensation, and raising the temperature of the exhaust gas based on a second temperature difference compensation. In particular, the first and second temperature difference compensations are calculated based on a target temperature of the exhaust gas at an upstream of the particulate filter and an actual temperature of the exhaust gas at the upstream of the particulate filter.
