A specialty nut and specialty ratchet driver device used to start an internal combustion engine, each with an integrated one direction clutch, designed to be an attachment for a commercially available battery operated drill/driver gun. The specialty ratchet driver with an integrated one direction clutch is inserted into the driver receptacle of the socket placed over the nut on the crank shaft of the engine. One end of a drive shaft is inserted into the one direction clutch portion of the specialty ratchet driver device and the other end of the drive shaft is inserted into the chuck of a battery operated drill/driver gun. The torque of the drill/driver gun turns the crank shaft of the engine with sufficient force to initiate starting of the engine. The one direction clutch then allows the engine to turn faster than the drill/driver so as not to impede the engine start up.

System and method for disassembling a drive pinion assembly of starter motor

A system for disassembling a drive pinion assembly of a starter motor is disclosed. The drive pinion assembly includes a drive gear and a pinion member coupled to the drive gear through a mounting hole defined in the drive gear. The system includes a base member for supporting the drive pinion assembly. The base member includes a through hole to align with the mounting hole of the drive gear. The system further includes a pin member slidably received in the through hole and an actuating member disposed around the base member. The actuating member is rotatable about a rotational axis defined by the base member. The actuating member includes a cam lobe for moving the pin member towards the mounting hole of the drive gear based on movement of the actuating member about the rotational axis to disassemble the pinion member from the drive gear.

ELECTRIC STARTER WITH MANUAL TURNING FUNCTION

Disclosed is an electric starter with a manual turning function. A main shaft, a drive gear mechanism, a shift fork, an electromagnetic relay guide rod and a first return spring are arranged in a housing of the electric starter. A gear shifting mechanism comprises a force receiving component which extends out of the housing of the electric starter and serves as an external force applying point so as to promote the electromagnetic relay guide rod to move rightwards, a normally closed switch for cutting off a power supply of the electric starter when the force receiving component moves to an extreme position, a positioning component for locking the force receiving component when the force receiving component moves to the extreme position, and a first return component which enables the force receiving component to automatically returns to an original state when the force receiving component is unlocked. The main shaft is indirectly driven to rotate by the turning mechanism via a transmission mechanism or directly driven to rotate by the turning mechanism via a turning tool. An improvement is made to a structure of a traditional electric starter without affecting existing functions thereof, i.e., a function of manual turning is added. Therefore, a flywheel gear of a motor can be precisely positioned during maintenance so as to improve efficiency and eliminate potential safety hazards.

A specialty nut and specialty ratchet driver device used to start an internal combustion engine, each with an integrated one direction clutch, designed to be an attachment for a commercially available battery operated drill/driver gun. In the case of the specialty nut, it is screwed onto the crank shaft of a small internal combustion engine with the integrated one direction clutch pointing outward. One end of a driver shaft is inserted into the one direction clutch and the other end of the shaft is inserted into the chuck of a battery operated drill/driver gun. In the case of the specialty ratchet driver device, a standard nut is present on the threaded engine crank shaft and a socket is placed over that nut. The specialty ratchet driver with an integrated one direction clutch is inserted into the driver receptacle of the socket placed over the nut on the crank shaft. One end of a drive shaft is inserted into the one direction clutch portion of the specialty ratchet driver device and the other end of the drive shaft is inserted into the chuck of a battery operated drill/driver gun. In both cases, the torque of the drill/driver gun turns the crank shaft of the engine with sufficient force to initiate starting of the engine. The one direction clutch then allows the engine to turn faster than the drill/driver so as not to impede the engine start up.

Solenoid switch and vehicle starter

A solenoid switch for a vehicle starter is disclosed, which comprises a housing defining an axial direction; a cap carrying a pair of contact studs, the cap having a front end which is fixed in the housing; a solenoid core mounted in the housing in front of the cap; and an elastic element having a maximum (extreme) allowance compression in the axial direction, the elastic element being compressed between the cap and the solenoid core in the axial direction by an elastic pre-compression amount which is smaller than the maximum allowance compression; wherein the solenoid core is supported by the housing at its front side and is supported by the elastic element at its back side. A vehicle starter comprising such a solenoid switch is also disclosed. Axial bouncing of the cap can be reduced by the invention.
