A method of controlling a liquid movement system, such as a pool system. The method includes receiving a maximum time that an auxiliary load is to operate, receiving a minimum pump speed of a pump system that pumps a liquid through the auxiliary load, monitoring the time that an auxiliary load has been in operation, monitoring the pump speed of a pump system that pumps a liquid through the auxiliary load, and deactivating the auxiliary load if the maximum time or minimum pump speed has been met. Also disclosed are a pool system and a controller for controlling the pool system.

Air pump for an inflatable body

An air pump comprises a controller, a pump, a driving switch and a pressure sensor. The controller includes a central processing unit and defines an air inlet. The pump couples to the controller to inflate or discharge air from an inflatable body. The pump comprises a housing defining an inflating and a discharging port. The driving switch couples to the controller to implement switching between two or more air passage configurations. The pressure sensor couples to the central process unit to detect an internal pressure value of the inflatable body. The controller includes a wireless communication module which communicates with the central processing unit and a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal includes a terminal wireless communication module and a terminal input unit. The terminal wireless communication module communicates with the wireless communication module. The terminal input unit provides at least an inflation, a deflation, or a stop signal input.

COMPRESSED AIR SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAME
20170292522 · 2017-10-12 ·

An improved compressed air system utilizes one or more base compressors, such as fixed speed drive compressors, to meet the compressed air demands and one or more trim compressors, such as variable speed drive compressors, to meet the variations in the demand. The operation of both the base and trim compressors may be controlled to provide improved overall efficiency while meeting the transient load demands. The control may spread the demands over the various base compressors to improve the overall loading on each base compressor. Efficiency metrics may be utilized to control the switching between base and trim compressors. Unloading of a base compressor may be controlled to avoid undesirable changes in system performance.

MECHANICAL SEAL ASSISTANCE DEVICE AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR USE THEREOF
20170292611 · 2017-10-12 ·

Disclosed is a device for regulating the compression force of a spring-spacer assembly provided in a mechanical shaft seal in a system including a motor and a pump or compressor. The device includes a spacer made from shape memory alloy, a spring in line with the spacer, and a heater proximate the spacer. When heated, the spacer contracts in length, resulting in a decrease in compression force. Also disclosed are systems and methods utilizing the device. The device is particularly useful when starting a pump or compressor to reduce friction in the mechanical seal. Existing mechanical seals can be easily retrofitted with the device.

CENTRIFUGAL PUMP UNIT

A centrifugal pump unit (1) is disclosed having a body (4) that includes a suction connection (5), a pressure connection (6) and a pump chamber (7) connecting the suction and pressure connections. The centrifugal pump unit further includes an impeller (8) disposed in the pump chamber and at least one electromagnetic flow sensor (3) arranged to measure flow in at least a part of the suction connection and/or pressure connection and/or pump chamber for determining a flow rate of a fluid through the centrifugal pump unit or for determining a control signal equivalent of the flow rate for control purposes.

Water Pump with Check Valve
20170284551 · 2017-10-05 ·

A water pump has a check valve with a valve body movable in a direction of a valve axis of the check valve between an open position of the check valve and a closed position of the check valve. An actuating device is connected with the check valve and has an operating element that is movable coaxially to the valve axis. The operating element is operatively connected to the valve body and arranged such that the operating element, by applying a coaxial force to the valve body, transfers the valve body into a venting position of the check valve.

This disclosure describes electrically powered fluid (liquid) pumps having an electric motor or actuator attached to a power source with an amperage sensor configured to measure the amperage draw of the motor while the pump is operating.

Flow control

A pumping system for at least one aquatic application comprises a motor coupled to a pump and a controller in communication with the motor. The controller may be adapted to determine a first motor speed, determine a present flow rate using curves of speed versus flow rate for discrete power consumptions, generate a difference value between the present flow rate and a reference flow rate, and/or drive the motor at a second motor speed based on the difference value until reaching a steady state condition.
