A pump for pumping a liquid, includes an impeller and an axially extending drive shaft assembly, wherein a distal end of the drive shaft assembly is received in a central recess of the impeller. The drive shaft assembly includes a drive shaft and a connector. The connector includes a sleeve that is in telescopic engagement with the drive shaft. During operation of the pump the impeller is displaceable in the axial direction in relation to the sleeve between a distal rest position and a proximal position. The impeller is biased towards the distal rest position by a spring member arranged between the sleeve and the impeller. The connector includes a hollow adjustment screw that is in threaded engagement with an interior side of the sleeve to limit the maximum degree of telescopic overlap between the sleeve and the drive shaft.

Electric submersible pump event detection

A method for monitoring operation of an electric submersible pump. The method includes receiving data signals indicating values for a plurality of parameters regarding operation of the electric submersible pumping system; establishing, for at least some of the plurality of parameters, an associated reference signal; and detecting a deviation of one of the parameters from the reference signal associated with that parameter. As a result of the deviation having a rate of change below a predetermined threshold, the method includes updating the value of the reference signal to reflect the deviation. As a result of the deviation having a rate of change above the predetermined threshold, the method includes detecting an event and generating an indication of the event. The indication of the event further depends on a type of the parameter and a direction of the deviation from the reference signal.

Reducing Fault Energy from an Electric Motor Drive for a Compressor

A system has an electric motor having a stator and a rotor. The rotor rotates with a shaft and the shaft drives a fluid rotor. A control senses a fault condition on the electric motor. The control actuates a speed reduction feature when a fault is detected to bring rotation of the motor rotor and the fluid rotor to a stop more rapidly than if the speed reduction feature had not been actuated.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR WIRELESS CONTROL OF A PUMP MOTOR

A control system for a pump motor includes a first portion disposed outside a housing of the pump motor. The first portion may include a wireless communication interface and a processor. In some embodiments, the processor of the first portion is configured to control the wireless communication interface to receive a user input from a user device, and generate a control signal in response to receiving the user input. The control system also includes a second portion physically separate from the first portion and communicatively coupled to the first portion. The second portion may include a processor configured to receive the control signal from the first portion, and control the pump motor in response to receiving the control signal.

A blower for an HVAC system, the blower includes a housing with an intake and an outlet, a fan or blower wheel disposed within the housing and configured to draw air into the housing via the intake and to exhaust air from the housing through the outlet, and an adjustable cutoff plate configured to be moved between at least a first position defining a first cutoff angle and a second position defining a second cutoff angle.

Guards for rotary pumps are described, the pump having a main body and further including an impeller housing and a driveshaft extending between the main body of the pump and the impeller housing; the pump further including an adjustable sealing arrangement provided at a region where the driveshaft enters the impeller housing, the guard provides access to adjust the sealing arrangement but obstructs access to the driveshaft.

In one aspect the invention comprises a washing machine (7) with a variable speed pump (8) for pumping out wastewater, a controller (50) for controlling the speed of the pump and a sensor (10) for determining the flow-rate of water being pumped from the washing machine, wherein the controller (50) controls the speed of the pump to maintain the flow-rate at a desirable level.
