Appliance mounting assembly

An appliance mounting assembly includes a mounting bracket with first and second distal arms that flare outward in opposing directions from an attachment body and couple to a panel. The mounting bracket includes a pair of coupling members that extend from the attachment body toward the panel surface and distal ends that curve inward toward one another. A self-clinching nut has an undercut, serrated clinching ring, and base. The undercut and the serrated clinching ring are disposed within an aperture defined by the attachment body. A ladder rack has first and second sides coupled via an attachment wall. The first and second sides define protrusions that engage the pair of coupling members in an interference fit. The attachment wall defines a receiving hole that aligns with the aperture. A threaded fastener extends through the receiving hole and engages the self-clinching nut to fasten the ladder rack to the mounting bracket.

Nut for joining conduits

A nut for joining conduits includes a body having a generally cylindrical shape and defining a central opening. A plurality of lugs can extend outwardly from an outer surface of the body and provide one or more strike surfaces. The central opening can include a threaded portion proximate a first end of the nut and a tapered portion extending from the threaded portion. The tapered portion defines a frustoconical surface that expands the central opening beyond the threaded portion. The tapered portion may terminate at an undercut or flange proximate the second end of the nut.

MULTl-MATERIAL BOSS AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

A multi-material boss, configured for fastening of a fastener thereto, being a feature of a the cast part, comprising a boss cylinder, an augmenting cylinder, and a filler metal layer is provided. The boss cylinder is made of the same material as the die cast part having a first hardness, and has a first interior. The augmenting cylinder is made of an augmenting material having a second hardness, is fixedly secured in the first interior of the boss cylinder, and has a second interior defined by a second cylindrical shaped wall, a base rim, and a second opening. The second hardness is greater than the first hardness. The fastener is fastened to the multi-material boss via the second opening of the augmenting cylinder having the higher liquidus temperature and greater hardness.
