MULTI-PART ADJUSTING ELEMENT
A multi-part adjusting element is proposed, which makes possible a very precise adjustment of a shaft bearing.
Bearing preload apparatus
A bearing preload apparatus may include a gearbox assembly, a coupling assembly, and a sensor assembly. The gearbox assembly may include a gearbox housing, a first shaft and a second shaft. The first and second shafts may extend out of the housing and may be rotatable simultaneously with each other at different speeds. The coupling assembly may include a first driver coupling connected to the first shaft and a second driver coupling connected to the second shaft. The sensor assembly may be mounted to a stationary structure and the gearbox housing. The sensor assembly may measure a reaction torque of the gearbox assembly relative to the stationary structure.
AXLE ASSEMBLY
A method and system for an axle assembly are provided. The axle assembly, in one example, includes a cover at least partially circumferentially surrounding a shaft, a bearing coupled to the shaft and the cover, the bearing including an outer race, and a bearing adjuster including a first axial side adjacent to the outer race and configured to set a bearing preload and/or end play. The assembly further includes a lubricant seal spaced axially away from the bearing adjuster and sealing a lubricant bore and the lubricant bore traverses the cover and extends axially toward the bearing adjuster.
Hub unit bearing and method for manufacturing same
An amount of decrease C in an axial clearance of a hub unit bearing is found based on an amount of expansion D of an inner ring of the hub unit bearing, which is the difference between the outer-diameter dimension D1 of the inner ring after the inner ring is externally fitted with a tubular fitting portion of a hub spindle of the hub unit bearing and after formation of a swaged portion of the hub spindle, the inner ring being held between the swaged portion and a stepped surface of the hub spindle, and an outer-diameter dimension D0 of the inner ring before the inner ring is externally fitted with the tubular fitting portion.
ADJUSTABLE SPACER WITH HARDENED ENDS
An adjustable spacer with a non-hardened intermediate portion therebetween is mountable between a pair of roller bearings also mounted on a shaft such an axle or spindle or the like. The intermediate portion allows the spacer to collapse in the axial direction to maintain desired axial loads on the bearings.
Active wheel hub bearing
A rolling bearing of a wheel hub group for motor vehicles, equipped with a stationary radially outer ring and with respective radially outer raceways, a pair of rotatable radially inner rings equipped with respective radially inner raceways, and two rows of rolling bodies positioned between the corresponding inner and outer raceways. The rolling bearing is also equipped with a piezoelectric actuator housed in a seat of the radially outer ring, in a symmetrical position relative to the raceways, and capable of varying the strain behavior of the radially outer ring.
PRELOAD FORCE TOOL
The invention relates to a bearing preload force gauge for indicating the bearing preload force on a turbomolecular pump rotor bearing. The gauge comprises a housing, an indicator for indicating the bearing preload force, and actuator coupled to an impeller engagement surface by a member configured to provide a resilient bias between the actuator and the impeller engagement surface. The invention also relates to a bearing preload tool and methods for measuring the bearing preload force on a turbomolecular pump.
BEARING HOUSING
A bearing coupler assembly that has a bearing housing sized to at least partially receive a bearing assembly, the bearing housing defining a bearing axis therethrough, a shaft positioned at least partially through the bearing housing along the bearing axis, the shaft defining a shaft lip and a fastener end, the bearing assembly coupling the shaft to the bearing housing so the shaft can rotate about the bearing axis relative to the bearing housing, a fastener configured to be coupled to the fastener end of the shaft, a tone wheel positioned axially along the bearing axis between the fastener and the bearing assembly, the tone wheel having at least one indicator, a sensor coupled to the bearing housing and configured to identify when the indicator passes thereby.
Bearing assembly with preload
A preloaded bearing assembly includes two tapered roller bearings that each have an inner ring and an outer ring and rolling elements therebetween, wherein both bearings are preloadable with a predetermined preload force by relatively shifting the inner rings and/or the outer rings in an axial direction. Flanges are disposed on the inner rings and/or the outer rings and form an axial stop for the rolling elements, and at least one of the flanges is adjustable on or relative to the associated bearing ring in the axial direction. The axially adjustable flange is disposed with a predetermined press-fit on or relative to the bearing ring and is shiftable on or relative to the bearing ring against a frictional force provided by the predetermined press-fit, and the predetermined preload force is determined by a magnitude of the frictional force of the predetermined press-fit.
Bearing compression strap
A tensioning arrangement for a bearing ring, which introduces a compressive force towards a rotational centre of the bearing ring, to prevent the bearing ring distorting as a shaft supported by the bearing turns. The tensioner arrangement includes a strap and a tensioner. The strap has a connector at each end, and tensioner has an element for connecting to the connectors. The tensioner also has an element for applying tension to the strap. In use, the strap is arranged around the bearing ring and a circumferential length of the strap in contact with the bearing ring is reduced, thereby applying compressive force to the bearing ring.
