CORRECTING AN IMBALANCE IN A ROTATING SHAFT
An apparatus for correcting an imbalance in a rotating shaft and a method for correcting the imbalance in a rotating shaft is identified. The joint assembly includes a first joint member that is drivingly connected to at least a portion of second joint member via one or more torque transmission elements. At least a portion of a first shaft is drivingly connected to at least a portion of a first joint member and at least a portion of a second shaft is drivingly connected to at least a portion of a second end portion of the second joint member. A boot can is connected to at least a portion of a first end portion of the second joint member and one or more balancing elements are attached to at least a portion of the boot can.
BELT-DRIVEN ATTACHMENT SYSTEM
A belt-driven attachment system is disclosed. The attachment system includes a mobile power unit with a drive pulley and a power unit interface for connection of an attachment. The attachment includes at least one driven pulley and a first belt guide to maintain the belt aligned with the at least one driven pulley when tension on the belt is released. The attachment also includes an idler pulley and an idler position assembly coupled to the idler pulley. The idler position assembly provides a first position setting for the idler pulley in which tension on the belt is maintained and a second position setting for the idler pulley in which tension on the belt is released. The attachment also includes a second belt guide to maintain the belt aligned with the idler pulley when tension on the belt is released.
Chord-wise variable vortex generator
One embodiment is an apparatus including an airfoil-shaped body; and a chordwise variable vortex generation system associated with the airfoil-shaped body, the chordwise variable vortex generation system controlling a deployment of at least one vortex generator on a surface of the airfoil-shaped body, wherein the deployment of the at least one vortex generator is dependent on a current angle of attack of the airfoil-shaped body. In some embodiments, the chordwise variable vortex generation system includes an actuator for controlling a location of the deployment of the at least one vortex generator responsive to a control signal indicative of the current angle of attack of the airfoil-shaped body. In certain embodiments, the surface of the airfoil-shaped body is a top surface of the airfoil-shaped body. In some embodiments, the airfoil-shaped body is an aircraft wing.
LAUNDRY TREATMENT APPARATUS
A laundry treatment apparatus includes an outer tub to receive wash water, a driving motor having a stator fixed to the outer tub, and a rotor rotated relative to the stator, a washing shaft rotated together with the rotor, and a rotatable spin-drying shaft spaced apart from the rotor. The laundry treatment apparatus also includes an inner tub disposed in the outer tub, a pulsator provided in the inner tub at a lower portion thereof, and a clutch assembly. The inner tub is rotated together with the spin-drying shaft and the pulsator is rotated by the washing shaft. The clutch assembly selects one of a plurality of modes including i) at least one restriction mode of restricting the spin-drying shaft to the rotor or the outer tub and ii) a free mode of not restricting the spin-drying shaft to the rotor and the outer tub.
Transmission component and printer
A transmission component acting as a safety device in a printer for the safety of a print operator includes a gear portion, a transmission shaft, and a resilient member. One end of the gear portion defines a receiving space, the transmission component and the resilient member are received in the receiving space. The resilient member bears against the bottom end of the receiving space and the transmission shaft. The resilient member is elastically deformed to slide in the receiving space if operator or limb of operator is detected during loading procedure.
Reduced noise flexplate
A flexplate assembly comprising a central plate having a general disc shape disposed about and extending radially from an axis. The central plate has a first radial width. A ring gear is annularly secured about the central plate and presents an outer circumference that defines a plurality of ring teeth extending therefrom. At least one noise plate is disposed adjacent to the central plate and extends circumferentially about the axis for reducing vibrations and noise from the flexplate assembly. The noise plate has a second radial width that is at least one half of the first radial width of the central plate. A method of constructing such a flexplate assembly is also provided.
