A convertible item of furniture including: a plurality of shelf units, wherein each shelf unit has a horizontally extending leave and at least one leave support for supporting the leave; a drive system operably connected to each leave support such that the leaves remain horizontal when the shelf units are moved between a vertical configuration and a horizontal configuration; and, an anti-tip leg system. The anti-tip leg system has a front leg assembly and a rear leg assembly including an upwardly extending pair of rear legs, each rear leg comprising a rear leg upper region operably connected to a shelf unit or a part of the drive system, and a rear leg lower region supporting at least one wheel, and a linkage assembly interconnecting the front and rear leg assemblies. A spacing between the front and rear leg lower regions increases as the shelf units move towards the horizontal configuration.

A rack system for removably supporting a plurality of articles therein includes a membrane for accommodating at least one of the plurality of articles therein and including at least in part a resilient material forming a plurality of petals defining an opening. The system further includes an attachment arrangement configured for attaching to an external surface. The membrane and the attachment arrangement are configured to collaborate to support the membrane at a predetermined distance from the external surface. The plurality of petals are configured for removably holding at least one of the plurality of articles inserted into the opening. In an embodiment, the system includes a sub-frame for providing structural integrity to the membrane. Alternatively, the membrane is at least in part formed of a stiff material surrounding the petals such that the membrane is attachable to the attachment arrangement in a self-supporting manner.

A rack system for removably supporting a plurality of articles therein includes a membrane for accommodating at least one of the plurality of articles therein and including at least in part a resilient material forming a plurality of petals defining an opening. The system further includes an attachment arrangement configured for attaching to an external surface. The membrane and the attachment arrangement are configured to collaborate to support the membrane at a predetermined distance from the external surface. The plurality of petals are configured for removably holding at least one of the plurality of articles inserted into the opening. In an embodiment, the system includes a sub-frame for providing structural integrity to the membrane. Alternatively, the membrane is at least in part formed of a stiff material surrounding the petals such that the membrane is attachable to the attachment arrangement in a self-supporting manner.

A cabinet system arranged to allow access to floor space underneath, the system including two side walls having front and rear edges, at least one door arranged proximate the front edges of the side walls and configured to be openable to access an area between the side walls; and a bottom panel arranged between the two side walls and configured such that at least a portion of the bottom panel is selectively movable to at least partially expose a floor space extending back from the front edges of the side walls.

A cabinet system arranged to allow access to floor space underneath, the system including two side walls having front and rear edges, at least one door arranged proximate the front edges of the side walls and configured to be openable to access an area between the side walls; and a bottom panel arranged between the two side walls and configured such that at least a portion of the bottom panel is selectively movable to at least partially expose a floor space extending back from the front edges of the side walls.

An apparatus for hanging clothing or sports equipment that is removably mountable in a locker cubby and may be reconfigured from a closed position in which the apparats lies generally flat for transport and an open in use position wherein multiple locations are provided to support clothing and sports equipment.

An articulated storage apparatus has a mounting plate having openings for fasteners to mount to a stable stationary surface, a first arm extending from the mounting plate, a second arm coupled at a first end to the first arm at an end away from the carrier plate by a first vertically-oriented rotation mechanism driven by a first electric motor, a carrier plate having openings for fasteners to mount to a storage container, a third arm extending from the carrier plate coupled at an end away from the carrier plate to the second arm at a second end opposite the first end by a second vertically-oriented rotation mechanism driven by a second electric motor, and a control system having independent drivers for the first and the second electric motors, with inputs for independently rotating the electric motors in opposite directions.

Disclosed herein is an apparatus for moving an item. The apparatus comprises a mounting portion for mounting the apparatus to a surface, a platform configured to receive the item thereon, extendable arms configured to extend away from the mounting portion, wherein the platform is moveable between a storage position above the surface and an accessible position away from the surface, lifting assemblies that join opposing sides of the platform to a respective extendable arm, the lifting assemblies being configured to raise and lower the platform relative to the extendable arms whilst in the accessible position, and a driver operable to raise and lower the platform. At least one of the lifting assemblies comprises three arms, at least one arm being a driven arm that is driven by the driver whereby the platform is raised or lowered, and another are being a stabilising arm that is configured to move synchronously with the driven arm whereby the platform is stabilised.

A multi-use desk-cabinet is provided. The multi-use desk-cabinet comprises a rear cabinet wall having a left and a right side cabinet wall mounted thereto. A desk plate is slidably and pivotally movable mounted to each of the left and the right side cabinet wall such that the desk plate is movable from a substantially vertical position in proximity to a front end of the left and the right side cabinet wall to a substantially horizontal position such that a rear end of the desk plate is placed in close proximity to the rear cabinet wall.

A multi-use desk-cabinet is provided. The multi-use desk-cabinet comprises a rear cabinet wall having a left and a right side cabinet wall mounted thereto. A desk plate is slidably and pivotally movable mounted to each of the left and the right side cabinet wall such that the desk plate is movable from a substantially vertical position in proximity to a front end of the left and the right side cabinet wall to a substantially horizontal position such that a rear end of the desk plate is placed in close proximity to the rear cabinet wall.
