A pipe coupling for coupling adjacent pipe ends of a pair of pipes includes a sleeve, a sealing gasket operatively coupled with the sleeve adjacent an open end of the sleeve, and a clamping element for compressing the sleeve or the sealing gasket into tightened engagement with one of the pipe ends. The clamping element includes two bolt flanges nominally spaced apart by a gap and a double threaded fastening bolt with two external threaded portions, which engage with two corresponding fastening nuts having right-hand thread and left-hand thread, respectively. Accordingly, when the fastening bolt is rotated, both the fastening nuts move towards or away from one another, thereby rapidly moving the bolt flanges to shrink the gap and compress the clamping element or to expand the gap. As such, less time and labor are required to operate the pipe coupling in the field.

CLAMPING COLLAR WITH FOLDABLE RETAINING FINGER TABS

The clamping system for connecting a first tube and a second tube (2, 4) whose facing ends have projecting clamping surfaces (18, 20) comprises a collar (10) that comprises a belt (12) able to be clamped around said clamping surfaces and a washer supported by the collar. The belt (12) has a first and a second sidewall (13A, 13B) between which is delimited an internal recess able to receive the clamping surfaces. The washer carries at least one foldable retaining finger (22) which has a free end portion projecting axially beyond a first edge (13A) of the belt over a distance sufficient to allow manual manipulation thereof, said free end portion having a retaining edge (21A) configured, when said end portion is folded towards the axis of the belt, to be retained outside the belt by a radially projecting element (2A).

Electrically isolating block and flange for rail-heating duct

An electrically isolating duct-connecting block for connecting two ducts, the duct-connecting block including a rigid, generally rectangular duct-like structure having upper and lower walls and side walls that match a cross-sectional size of a tie duct, the structure being made of an electrically nonconductive material. The block also includes a plurality of threaded fasteners embedded within the structure. Also disclosed is an electrically isolating nozzle-mounting block for mounting a nozzle to a tie duct, the nozzle-mounting block comprising a rigid flange-like structure having peripheral mounting holes and a central circular passage for conveying air to the nozzle, the structure being made of an electrically nonconductive material. The block also includes a plurality of threaded fasteners partially embedded within the structure. The blocks may be made of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene or any electrically and mechanically equivalent material.

UNIVERSAL VACUUM FITTING CLAMP WITH TORQUE CONTROL

A sealing system for establishing real time sealing between two flange members is provided. The sealing system includes a seal assembly disposed between the flange members. The seal assembly includes an o-ring seal component held between an outer seal component and an inner seal component. A clamp body including a first clamp arm and a second clamp arm receive the flange members and the seal assembly positioned between the flange members. A coupling device of the sealing system is used to apply torque to clamp arms to draw them each other resulting biasing the flange member toward each other to establish sealing. Each of the clamp arms includes at least one window opening to expose a portion of outer seal component that includes an indicator configured for displaying an identification feature of the o-ring seal component of the sealing assembly.

Method and apparatus for directing and containing leakage

The present invention includes an apparatus and method for capturing leakage from a flanged joint that includes a bolted connection of flanged pipe or flanged tubing sections and flanges such as weld neck flanges. The invention includes a removable housing having a curved section and a pair of straight sections. The housing can have first and second fluid flow channels. The housing can be sized and shaped to receive a bolted flanged connection of two flanged pipe or tubing sections. Two of the flanged pipe sections can extend in generally opposite directions from the housing. The housing walls can contain any leakage from the flanged bolted connection. The contained leakage can flow into one or both of said channels. One or more locks can removably secure the housing to the flanged joint. Specially configured panels can be used to lock the housing to the flanged, bolted connection. Openings enable pipe sections to extend from the flanges in opposing direction. The panels are positioned on opposing sides of the housing. The panels can be rotated to: 1) expose the bolts of the bolted connection, or 2) cover the bolts of the bolted connection.

Coated flanged coupling

An improved coupling system for joining two items together, typically in the form of copper pipes, to other copper pipes, or in the form of other fittings, includes a pair of flange couplings, each of which is independently secured to one of the items to be joined together so that when the two flange couplings are securely joined to each other by suitable fasteners received through fastening apertures in the two flange couplings, the two items are sealingly joined to one another to form a substantially water tight junction. The improvement being that the bare metal parts of the ferrous components of the coupling are coated with a protective coating, such as a copper coating, so that there is no direct contact between two dissimilar metals thereby inhibiting or preventing corrosion of the metal components of the coupling due to electrolytic or galvanic action arising from direct contact between the two dissimilar metals.
