Bushings and fittings, tubing assemblies, and methods incorporating the same
10883635 · 2021-01-05 · ·

One aspect of the invention provides an elastomeric bushing including: a plurality of rigid members defining one or more internal annular ribs and one or more elastic members. The rigid members include: a first internal annular rib adapted and configured to engage a corrugation valley of corrugated tubing; and one or more trailing lips adapted and configured to extend through a central opening of a nut and engage said nut, thereby preventing axial movement of the bushing when a corrugated tubing is advancing through the bushing. The one or more elastic members are adapted and configured to: hold the plurality of rigid members in a substantially annular configuration; allow the plurality of rigid members to expand to allow a corrugation peak to pass under the first internal rib; and hold the plurality of rigid members against the corrugated tubing so that the first internal rib lies within a corrugation valley.

Apparatus for processing biological sample
10882008 · 2021-01-05 · ·

An apparatus for processing biological sample is provided, which comprises a semi-permeable membrane column, an adaptor column and a vacuum manifold. The at least one semi-permeable membrane column is configured for accommodating biological sample therein and comprises a curved surface. The at least one adaptor column is configured for accommodating the semi-permeable membrane column therein and comprises a stopping element. The vacuum manifold is configured for creating a vacuum that facilitates flowing of the biological sample into the semi-permeable membrane column through a semi-permeable membrane therein. The stopping element abuts against the curved surface. By disposing the stopping element within the adaptor column, the present disclosure prevents the biological sample from suffering an unbalance pressure to splash upwardly outside the semi-permeable membrane column thereby causing a possibility of decreasing the testing efficiency, when the semi-permeable membrane column is removed out of the adaptor column.

Female pipe coupling member having communication terminal

Termination for sheathed tubing with leak containment and detection provisions

A fitting for an end of a length of corrugated tubing with an outer sheath includes an engagement ring for gripping the tubing adjacent to an endmost corrugation of the tubing to preclude axial displacement of the retainer on the tubing. The fitting also includes an end plug having at least one threaded surface and a hollow cylindrical part sized to admit and engage with the engagement ring. The end fitting also includes a nut having a threaded portion complementary with the threaded surface of the end plug and an inner surface that defines an inner cavity. An annular groove extends from the inner surface. A vent extends through the sidewall and is disposed between the threaded surface and the groove. A gasket is disposed in the annular groove and a portion of the gasket extends into the inner cavity and is configured to sealingly engage the sheath.

Reusable clamp with latch release arm for connecting conduit sections and associated methods
10859192 · 2020-12-08 · ·

A reusable clamp for retaining conduit sections or sanitary fittings having circular flanges together includes two gland members movable between open and closed positions. The gland members include two handles projecting outwardly from the gland members and two sets of locking detents formed on a latch finger connected to one gland member and the outer periphery of the other gland member. The locking detents engage to prevent movement of the gland members away from the closed position until a latch release arm coupled to the latch finger is depressed towards one of the handles, which causes the locking detents to disengage from one another and enables re-opening of the clamp when desired. The latch release arm and one or more of the handles also include tie-receiving loops to prevent accidental opening of the clamp unless desired by the end user.

Sterility retaining medical connector assembly and method

A medical connector assembly for establishing a fluid connection between a first medical device and a second medical device includes a multi-use connector and a plurality of single-use connectors connected in series. The multi-use connector has a proximal end opposite a distal end along a longitudinal length thereof. The plurality of single-use connectors each have a proximal end opposite a distal end along a longitudinal length thereof. The distal end of the multi-use connector is releasably connected to the proximal end of a first of the serially-connected single-use connectors. When a second of the serially-connected single-use connectors is disconnected from the first single-use connector, the first single-use connector remains connected to the multi-use medical connector as a sterility retaining cover.

Connection piece for connecting a surface-structured end of an hose to a fluid outlet and method of use

A connection piece for connecting a surface-structured end of a hose extending along a longitudinal direction to a fluid outlet is disclosed, which end comprises at least one recess in its surface, with a sealing space into which the end of the hose can be introduced. A sealing material is arranged in the sealing space, which is sufficiently fluidizable in a first processing state so that a part of the sealing material present in the sealing space can flow into the recess when the end of the hose has been pushed in, and can be hardened in a second processing state.

Fitting with a protrusion
10828431 · 2020-11-10 · ·

A connector is described that comprises a connector body with a connector end extending longitudinally from the connector body. The connector end comprises a generally cylindrical outer surface and a generally cylindrical inner surface. The generally cylindrical outer surface has a protrusion (e.g., a bulbous protrusion) providing a thickened cross-sectional area in the region of the connector end proximate to the protrusion so that the connector end can be connected to a second connector by inserting the second connector into the connector end. The second connector can also comprise a bulbous protrusion, and may be a nebulizer. A tube can be connected to the connector body (e.g., using a threaded connector).
