MECHANICAL CONNECTOR UTILIZING DOG-CLUTCH TEETH TO TRANSFER TORQUE
This invention builds up on technical features and on the industry experience with the use of Merlin™ family connectors. In addition to friction, structural means utilized to transfer high torsional loads include dog-clutch teeth and may also include: interlocked thread systems, shear pins, keys and splines, all used in isolation or in arbitrary combinations. Static and fatigue bending load capacities of the connectors remain high, while the axial load capacities may or may not be high, depending on the design requirements. Connectors according to this invention can be built as new, carefully optimized designs. In some cases upgrading existing Merlin™ family connector designs to increase they torque transfer capacities may be also feasible.
DISSIMILAR PIPING JOINT AT HIGH TEMPERATURE, HIGH PRESSURE TRANSIENT AND UNDER CYCLIC LOADING
Dissimilar piping joint arrangement, including a first pipe section and a second pipe section and a dissimilar piping joint between the pipe sections, the first and second consecutive pipe sections being made of first and second metallic materials respectively with different material behavior and properties. An improved lifetime and extended applicability is achieved in that said dissimilar piping joint is a coupling joint, said first pipe section made of said first metallic material is provided at one end with a first coupling made of said first metallic material, said second pipe section made of said second metallic material is provided at one end with a second coupling made of said second metallic material, and the first coupling and the second coupling are bolted together, whereby a first seal is established by direct metallic contact between the front faces of the first coupling and the second coupling.
Fluid device unit
Either the base part or the coupling part includes a first coupling member which is substantially circular in cross-section in a radial direction perpendicular to the central axis and has a diameter of a first length, while the other of the base part and the coupling part includes a first holding member which, with its inner circumferential surface having a substantially circular shape in cross-section in the radial direction, holds the first coupling member so as to surround its outer circumferential surface. The inner circumferential surface of the first holding member is partially opened in the radial direction, and an opening width of an opening part of the first holding member, which is elastically deformable, is narrower than the first length.
Corrugated pipe gasket
A gasket is adapted for sealing a joint between bell and spigot ends of corrugated pipes. The gasket generally includes a pair of seal lobes which provide a redundant double seal, together with an anchoring portion sized to be received in a trough defined by the pipe corrugation and at least one anti-roll lip adapted to engage the anchoring corrugation.
Bonding clip for fluid conduit coupling
A bonding clip is provided in combination with a fluid conduit coupling that interconnects fluid conveying members. The bonding clip conducts electrical charge across the coupling to prevent buildup of electrostatic charges in the coupling. In one aspect of the invention, it may be considered a bonding clip. In another aspect, it may be considered the combination including the bonding clip and coupler. The invention also includes a method for dissipating electrostatic charge across a coupling used to interconnect fluid conveying members. In a preferred embodiment of the bonding clip, it includes a continuous flexible wire element mounted exteriorly of the coupling. The bonding clip is formed in a shape to connect the facing flanges of adjacent fluid conveying lines connected by the coupler, and to pass over the coupler with a defined gap separating a bridge portion of the clip from exterior surfaces of the coupler.
METAL-TO-METAL SEALING
Methods and systems for metal-to-metal sealing and, in particular, to the use of sintered parts to create metal-to-metal sealing joints is disclosed. In one example, a metal-to-metal sealing joint may comprise: a first mating surface and a second mating surface; wherein the first mating surface is formed on a first assembly having an annular projection with one or more annular grooves and the second mating surface is formed on a second assembly; wherein the projection is configured such that when the first and second surfaces are brought into mating contact, the annular projection on the first mating surface deforms the second mating surface to form a sealing joint. In this way, the metal-to-metal sealing joint between the first and second mating surfaces may minimize oil leakage between two assemblies, thereby improving engine fuel economy while simplifying part manufacturing.
ARC RESISTANT CORRUGATED TUBING SYSTEM WITH PROTECTIVE JACKET AND FITTING
A tubing apparatus includes corrugated tubing including convolutions of peaks and valleys in the body of the tubing; an electrically conductive or semi-conductive, polymer jacket disposed along an exterior length of the corrugated tubing; wherein the jacket provides protection to the inner corrugated tubing from damage resulting from electrical arcing at levels ranging from at least 9 coulombs at a waveform of 10 microseconds×1000 microseconds.
Housing Component with a Hydraulic Line and the Manufacture Thereof
A housing component includes a line segment of a hydraulic line. The line segment has at least one channel that opens into a widening. The widening extends to outside of the housing component. A spatially limited sealing surface enclosing the channel is provided in the widening. A seal comprising an adhesive is joined to the sealing surface at least adhesively. A method for manufacturing such a housing component includes layered manufacture of the sealing surfaces.
CONNECTING ASSEMBLY FOR A CORRUGATED TUBE
A connecting assembly for connecting to a corrugated tube includes a base body with a receptacle recess for receiving the corrugated tube, and a latching unit which can be introduced through a circumferential opening of the base body into the receptacle recess and which has a latching element carrier and a plurality of latching elements constructed as one piece with the latching element carrier, wherein the latching elements are constructed for the purpose of engaging in a trough of the corrugated tube and to resist a movement of the corrugated tube out of the receptacle. According to the invention, the latching element carrier is constructed as a split ring, wherein the latching elements are arranged uniformly distributed along the circumference of the latching element carrier.
GROMMET ATTACHMENT STRUCTURE AND GROMMET
A grommet attachment structure and a grommet that make it possible to stabilize the force for fixing the grommet to a component. The grommet includes a main body portion that is tubular, lip portions that project from the inner peripheral surface of the main body portion and can come into contact with the outer circumferential surfaces of components, and fold back portions that are provided at positions on the main body portion on end sides in the axial direction relative to the lip portions, and that cover the formation regions of the lip portions when folded back to the outer side.
