DEVICE FOR MONITORING FORCE WHEN FIXING A TENSION CLAMP
20210140839 · 2021-05-13 ·

A tool for fixing a tension clamp including a pair of levers pivotable about parallel axes and carrying at their ends plier jaws that can be moved toward each other and act on the clamp. To monitor the forces occurring during the locking of a buckle and a clamping band of the tension clamp, use is made of a device that has a housing fixed with respect to the tool and power transmission arms. Each power transmission arm is at one end elastically articulated to the housing, has at the other end a contact surface for a force sensor (18) attached to the housing and has, between its ends, a bore, in which the axis of the relevant tool lever is supported. A force/time or force/path curve obtained from the sensor signals is used as a measure of the quality of the locking between the buckle and the clamping band.

DRAINAGE PIPE CONNECTION TOOL
20210039236 · 2021-02-11 ·

A drainage pipe connection tool for connecting two adjacent sections of corrugated, high density polyethylene (HDPE) drainage pipe or a section of HDPE drainage pipe to a collecting basin includes a first brace member, a second brace member with a tensioning member pivotally fitted thereto and straps extending between the first brace member and the second brace member. In use, the first brace member is fitted to one of the corrugated sections of HDPE drainage pipe or behind a female bell-shaped opening of the basin, and the second brace member is fitted to the adjacent section of HDPE drainage pipe. The straps are pulled taut to remove slack, and a lever of the tensioning member is operated to apply tension on the straps, urging the adjacent drainage pipe sections together or the pipe section into the open female bell of the basin.

A connector for a flexible non-metallic conduit is provided. The connector may include a gland nut for receiving the conduit, and a gland ring within the gland nut. The gland ring may be sized to extend around the conduit. The connector may further include a body threadably secured to the gland nut, and a ferrule disposed within the body, wherein the ferrule includes a first keying feature coupled to a second keying feature of the body to cause rotation therebetween, and wherein the ferrule is inserted partially into the conduit. In some embodiments, the gland nut is not directly physically coupled to the conduit, so the gland nut may slide over the conduit towards/away from the body. In some embodiments, during assembly, the body and the gland nut may be rotated together to cause external threading of the ferrule to engage an inner wall of the conduit.
