Optical module
An optical module including a light source, an adjustable reflector and a wavelength conversion set is provided. The adjustable reflector is disposed in a light path of light emitted from the light source and adaptable to adjust between a first position and a second position. The wavelength conversion set includes a first wavelength conversion member and a second wavelength conversion member. When the adjustable reflector is at the first position, light emitted from the light source is reflected to the first wavelength conversion member by the adjustable reflector. When the adjustable reflector is at the second position, light emitted from the light source is reflected to the second wavelength conversion member by the adjustable reflector.
LED based illumination device with integrated output window
An LED based illumination device includes LEDs mounted to an LED mounting board, an integrated output window sub-assembly, and a thermal frame coupled between the integrated output window sub-assembly and the LED mounting board. The integrated output window sub-assembly may include an output window and a thermally conductive ring coupled to the perimeter surface of the output window. The thermally conductive ring may have a radial width equal to or greater than the thickness of the output window. Additionally, the output window and the thermally conductive ring may have coplanar top and bottom surfaces. The thermally conductive ring surrounding the perimeter of the output window may include one or more pockets into which a curable, thermally conductive bonding material is disposed in an uncured state and flows into a gap between the perimeter of the output window and the thermally conductive ring.
Hybrid nanophosphors and UV or near UV-driven white light emitting diode
A hybrid nanophosphor includes red silicon nanoparticles in a homogenous mixture blue and green phosphors. A preferred hybrid nanophosphor uses ZnS: Ag, and ZnS: Cu, Au, Al for blue and green conversion, respectively, and mono dispersed 3 nm Si nano particles as a red phosphor. Wide emission profiles are provided by all components, and predetermined color characteristics in terms of CCT and CRI can be achieved simultaneously for excitation. A preferred lighting device includes a nanophosphor thin film of the invention on a UV or near UV-LED.

An optical member includes a refractive portion adapted to refract light, a first total internal reflection surface adjacent to and disposed about at least a portion of the refractive portion, and a second total internal reflection surface displaced from the first total internal reflection surface distal to the refractive portion and disposed about at least a portion of the first total internal reflection surface.
