Multi-purpose safety accessories
A safety accessory for mounting on a vehicle comprises a housing having a front side and a back side, and a laterally extending mounting portion for connecting to the vehicle, a mirror mounted on the front side, and a bulb assembly within the housing facing the back side. The bulb assembly comprises a plurality of white, amber and red light sources, and a control circuit connected between light sources and a plurality of inputs. The control circuit causes the white light sources to be on when power is received at a first input, the amber light sources to flash in a standard flash pattern when power is received at a second input, the red light sources to flash in the standard pattern when power is received at a third input, and the amber light sources to flash in an emergency strobe pattern when power is received at a fourth input.
LAMP ASSEMBLY
A lamp assembly for a vehicle configured to display a logo or other indicia in the form of a virtual image indicium. The lamp assembly includes a dark chamber having a mirror image indicium with an indicium light source associated with the dark chamber, and a light chamber having an associated primary light source. A transparent divider is configured to reflect the mirror image indicium when the indicium light source is illuminated to create the virtual image indicium that is perceivable by an observer.
IR ILLUMINATOR WITH SECONDARY FUNCTION
An IR illuminator used during the operation of autonomous vehicles, which provides improvement in the performance of cameras used in the vehicle at night time. An optical design of an outer lens of the IR illuminator is selected so that the outer lens forms a beam pattern for the output light from the IR light source, and also acts as a light guide for light emitted from a secondary visible light source, which is located in the same module as the IR light source, and which may be positioned on the same or a different printed circuit board as the IR light source. The material of outer lens is opalescent including scattering bodies. The optical design of the outer lens allows for improved field of view of the IR illuminator.
Vehicle dual-functional lighting module and vehicle dual-functional lighting set
A vehicle dual-functional lighting module is provided, including a light guide layer having a top surface, a bottom surface and at least one side surface, one lateral solid-state light source located on the side surface of the light guide layer and emitting a first light in a first direction, and one direct light solid-state light source located below the light guide layer and emitting a second light selectively in a second direction. The first light is guided by the side surface and led out of the top surface to present a surface-illuminated surface light source. The first direction is substantially perpendicular to the second direction. The second light is emitted toward the top surface to present an intensified light source which is located in the surface light source to selectively enhance the illumination intensity locally of the surface light source. A vehicle dual-functional lighting set is also provided.
Lamp for vehicle and method for controlling the same
A vehicle lamp includes: a light source unit including one or more light sources and configured to generate light; a reflector configured to reflect at least part of the light generated by the light source unit; and a lens configured to transmit therethrough a first portion of the light that is generated by the light source unit and that is reflected by the reflector to the lens. The reflector includes: a reflective part configured to reflect, to the lens, the first portion of the light generated by the light source unit; and a non-reflective part configured not to reflect, to the lens, the light generated by the light source unit. The reflective part and the non-reflective part of the reflector are configured to selectively reflect the light generated by the light source unit towards the lens to output a light distribution pattern from the vehicle lamp.

A multifunction lamp unit for a vehicle includes a housing, at least one light pipe together with at least one light source disposed at least partially within the housing, and a clear lens substantially enclosing the housing, the at least one light pipe and the at least one light source, the lens having an inner surface, an outer surface disposed opposite the inner surface and at least one of a continuous transparent and translucent coating on the outer surface.
Hybrid surface element lighting apparatus with multiple illumination functions
A vehicle lighting device provides two or more lighting functions using the same exit surface of a light guide panel. A first lighting function is a vehicle lighting function such as a rear tail light function or rear combination lamp function (e.g., brake signal, turn signal, and backup light) provided by a first light source comprising a light emitting diode (LED) light source inputted at an edge surface of the light guide panel. At least one more lighting function is implemented by a second light source outputting light toward a rear surface of the light guide panel and controlled to operate in accordance with one or more second light functions including one or more of: at least part of another vehicle lighting function, and a display including one or more display elements presenting at least one of: a designated pattern, a symbol, a pictogram, and an animation.
LIGHT GUIDE ASSEMBLY FOR AN AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLE
A light guide assembly for a vehicle, the light guide assembly including a light guide having a first end face. The light guide assembly further includes a first light source and a second light source having different heights and being mounted on a common support plane. Further, the first and second light sources are arranged to emit light rays in a light emission direction toward the first end face. The first end face includes a first inlet portion configured to receive light from the first light source and a second inlet portion configured to receive the light from the second light source. The first and second inlet portions are offset from one another in the light emission direction in such a way that the space between the common support plane and each inlet portion is proportional to the height of the light source in front of the corresponding inlet portion.
