PROCESS AND PLANT FOR THE COMBUSTION OF SULFUR TO SULFUR DIOXIDE
A reactor for the combustion of sulfur includes reactor walls which form a symmetrical base area b, whereby at least two burners are mounted each with a burner holding device. All burner holding devices have the same distance to each other and each burner holding device has the same distance to the a center point z of the base area b. At least one burner holding device is arranged such that during operation the flame of said burner shows an angle α between 0 and 45° to a center axis a, which is defined as the shortest connection between this burner holding device and the center point z.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR HEAT TREATING WOOD
A method of heat treating a wood board comprises: passing a wood board from an input end to a discharge end of a conveyor; and heating the board with radiant heat as it is passes along the conveyor, the heating can be such as to provide significant charring of the wood. The wood board is then brushed with at least one rotating brush. An apparatus, for carrying out the method, has a conveyor for conveying a wood board having an input end and a discharge end. A radiant heater is located above the conveyor for heating the wood board, and a rotating brush is mounted for rotation above the conveyor, for brushing the wood board after heating.
Gas-assisted liquid fuel oxygen reactor
The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for low-CO.sub.2 emission combustion of liquid fuel with a gas-assisted liquid fuel oxygen reactor. The system comprises an atomizer that sprays fuel and CO.sub.2 into an evaporation zone, where the fuel and CO.sub.2 is heated into a vaporized form. The system comprises a reaction zone that receives the vaporized fuel and CO.sub.2. The system includes an air vessel having an air stream, and a heating vessel adjacent to the air vessel that transfers heat to the air vessel. The system comprises an ion transport membrane in flow communication with the air vessel and reaction zone. The ion transport membrane receives O.sub.2 permeating from the air stream and transfers the O.sub.2 into the reaction zone resulting in combustion of fuel. The combustion produces heat and creates CO.sub.2 exhaust gases that are recirculated in the system limiting emission of CO.sub.2.

Combustion chamber comprising two types of injectors in which the sealing members have a different opening threshold
The invention relates to a combustion chamber for a turbomachine. The combustion chamber comprises at least one spark plug, at least one fuel injector of a first type of injector that is located facing the spark plug, and at least one fuel injector of a second type. Each fuel injector comprises a mobile sealing member that is configured to open when the fuel pressure exceeds an opening threshold. The opening threshold of the mobile sealing member of the injector of the first type is strictly less than the opening threshold of the mobile sealing member of the injector of the second type.

MULTI-BURNER ROTARY FURNACE MELTING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method of melting a charge in a double-pass tilt rotary furnace having a door, including operating a first burner at a first firing rate, the first burner being mounted in a lower portion of the door and producing a first flame having a length; operating a second burner at a second firing rate, the second burner being mounted in an upper portion of the door and producing a second flame having a length, the second flame being distal from the charge relative to the first flame; in an initial phase when the solids in the charge impede the first flame, controlling the second firing rate to be greater than the first firing rate; and in an later phase after melting of the solids in the charge sufficiently that the first flame is not impeded, controlling the first firing rate to be greater than the second firing rate.
