Variable angle multi-point injection
A nozzle for injecting liquid includes a nozzle body defining a flow channel and a swirl ante-chamber in fluid communication with the flow channel. An injection point orifice is defined in the swirl ante-chamber. The flow channel feeds into the swirl ante-chamber to impart a tangential flow component on fluids entering the swirl ante-chamber to generate swirl on a spray issuing from the injection point orifice. A second flow channel can be included in fluid communication with the swirl ante-chamber. The second flow channel feeds into the swirl ante-chamber in cooperation with or in opposition to the first flow channel. The first flow channel, second flow channel, and swirl ante-chamber are configured and adapted to adjust spray angle of a spray issuing from the injection point orifice by varying flow apportionment among the first and second flow channels.
BURNER DEVICE FOR HEATING APPARATUS
A burner device (190) comprising an air intake, a burner head (192) including an ignition device, a body section (196) defining a fluid flow channel between said air intake and said burner head (192), and a gas injector (205) for injecting combustible gas into said fluid flow channel. The burner head (192) is oriented such that its longitudinal axis is substantially perpendicular to the plane in which the channel is defined and in which fluid flows, in use, along said channel.
Orifice holder construction
An orifice holder assembly provides a boss connected by at least one arm to a base having an outlet therethrough. The boss is provided below the outlet. A tube is inserted through the boss until a bead contacts a first boss surface and the tube end is then deflected to form a lip where the lip and the bead connects the tube to the boss. An orifice body is then inserted in the tube end.
Waste oil burner improved preheater design
An improved oil preheater assembly for a waste oil burner that significantly reduces the labor time required to perform routine maintenance. This is accomplished by incorporating a removable cover to directly access the heated oil passages for cleaning thereby providing a simplified method of access to the areas most often requiring routine maintenance. Additionally this design provides an improved electrical control system which significantly reduces electrical energy consumption and the formation of oil carbonization when oil burner heat output is not required. Additionally this design incorporates a nozzle cleaning system for a low pressure siphoning type of discharge nozzle which can remove carbonization and other nozzle contamination and obstructions without the disassembly of components.
Fuel injectors for gas turbine engines
A fuel injector for a gas turbine engine includes a monolithic nozzle body that defines within its interior one or more fuel circuits. Each fuel circuit includes an inlet, an outlet orifice, a main passage fluidly coupling the inlet with the outlet orifice, and a branch passage connected to the main passage. The branch passage connects to the main passage downstream of the inlet and upstream of the outlet orifice to form an effective metering flow area that is smaller than the flow area of the outlet orifice.
METHOD FOR APPLYING A CATALYST TO A SURFACE OF THE CATALYTIC COMBUSTION BURNER
The present invention is directed to a method for applying a catalyst to the surface of a catalytic combustion burner that allows better distribution of the catalyst on the surface of the end piece of the burner, and thus prevents too high a temperature at the central zone. The present invention is also directed to a catalytic combustion burner which can be coated with a catalyst in accordance with the method of the invention, and to a catalytic combustion bottle adapted to contain a combustible liquid and to receive at its neck a catalytic combustion burner of the invention.
COMPACT BURNER FOR AN ENTRAINED-FLOW GASIFIER HAVING NO LIQUID COOLING
A compact burner for the pressurized gasification of pulverized fuel dust for producing synthesis gas, wherein a plurality of concentric media channels transition into a conical burner tip. The burner tip provides a reduced contact surface on the reaction chamber side. The nozzle components of the burner tip are produced by selective laser melting, which permits a design for cooling by supplied media, such as fuel gas, flushing gas, or oxidation. A sliding guide having an intermediate seal is arranged between the nozzle components of two media channels to equalize temperature-driven linear extensions. The compact burner makes the expense for liquid cooling unnecessary.
BURNER MODULE AND METHOD FOR THE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURE OF A BURNER MODULE OF THIS KIND
A burner module according to the invention comprises at least three or four or five or six or seven or eight functional walls which delimit at least one first functional space and form a module body, wherein the module body has at least three or four or five or six or six or seven gas passage openings and at least two of these gas passage openings are connected to one another communicatively via the first functional space, and wherein at least one nozzle device having a fuel gas opening is formed in an upper wall of the burner module, which fuel gas opening is connected communicatively to the first functional space via a gas channel. The burner module is produced in an additive manner.
BURNERS AND ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING METHODS
Burners and methods of making burner bodies via a focused beam are disclosed. In an aspect, a burner includes (a) a burner body and (b) at least one connector configured to supply at least a fuel and an oxidizer to the burner body. The burner body includes (1) a plurality of passageways; (2) a first major surface; (3) a plurality of ports at the first major surface, each port defined by an end of one of the passageways; and either: (4a) at least one heating element in or adjacent to at least one of the plurality of passageways that increases the temperature of a wall of the at least one of the plurality of passageways; or (4b) a cooling chamber directly adjacent to three or more of the plurality of passageways. The burner body includes a number of layers of metal directly bonded to each other. Further, methods are provided, including receiving, by a manufacturing device having one or more processors, a digital object comprising data specifying a burner body; and generating, with the manufacturing device by an additive manufacturing process, the burner body based on the digital object. A system is also provided, including a display that displays a 3D model of a burner body; and one or more processors that, in response to the 3D model selected by a user, cause a 3D printer to create a physical object of the burner body.
Infrared radiator and method of assembling same
An infrared radiator for the heat treatment of a material web has an incandescent body with a flow-receiving surface that is subjected to a flow of a gas-air mixture supplied to the infrared radiator and heated by combustion of the gas-air mixture. The incandescent body is manufactured as a sheet material formed of a multiplicity of threads and connecting elements that at least indirectly connect the threads to one another. The connecting elements at least partially engage around the threads and thus connect them at least indirectly to one another. The connecting elements are configured in such a way that they may be detached from the connection with the threads, preferably by hand, while breaking up the sheet material.
