Water-heating apparatus comprising combustible gas burner, in particular a storage water heater
An apparatus for heating water comprises a main burner, a pilot burner, a valve assembly with a main valve and a pilot valve having a shutter, a magnetic thermoelectric safety assembly with a thermocouple device holding the pilot valve open in the presence of a flame in the pilot burner, a button member mounted on a rod that is slidingly guided in the valve assembly and an electrical ignition member supplied via an electrical connection circuit, a switch device in the circuit being designed to be switched by means of the button member so as to close the electrical circuit when said button member is pressed in order to carry out actuation of the magnetic assembly so as to open the passage of gas through the pilot valve towards the pilot burner and to ignite the pilot flame by means of the sparks generated by the ignition member.
SWIRL TORCH IGNITER
A torch igniter and a method of igniting a torch flame. An example embodiment includes a body including an oxidizer inlet configured to facilitate oxidizer flow through the body toward an output end of the body. The body includes a group of fuel inlet passages configured to distribute fuel in a direction tangential to the oxidizer flow through the body to create a swirling fuel-oxidizer mixture. A sparking element can be mounted on the body to produce a spark in the path of the swirling fuel-oxidizer mixture to ignite the mixture. The output end of the body is configured to emit a torch flame when the fuel-oxidizer mixture is ignited. Thus, a swirl torch igniter is configured for oxidizer and fuel flow through the igniter body to create an internal swirling fuel-oxidizer mixture to be ignited by a sparking element.
DC RE-IGNITION SYSTEM FOR A GAS BURNER
The invention relates to a re-ignition system for a gas device comprising an electrode element (1) provided next to a burner (2); an igniter (60) in communication with the electrode element (1) for transmitting electrical signal and providing a spark arc with high voltage towards burner (2) in electrode element (1) in ignition mode; and an ignition control unit (30). Re-ignition system further comprises at least one battery (10); a flame detection unit (50) receiving a flame presence signal (3) by flame rectification and a transformer (20) which converts the direct current supplied through the battery (10) from one inlet (22) to alternating current at an outlet (24) and is connected with the ignition control unit (30) and flame detection unit (50) to provide electrical signal.
SMART CANDLE PLATFORM AND SYSTEM
An example Smart Candle Platform is configured to includes a candle fixture that comprises an outer shell having an opening, a mid-frame, and a base, and a fuel bottle configured to hold a fuel material and is removably coupled to the candle fixture. The fuel bottle is positioned at least partially within a hollow interior of the mid-frame of the candle fixture and accommodated by the base. The fuel bottle further comprises a wick that extends through an opening of the outer shell, and the candle fixture includes an ignitor configured to ignite the fuel material via the wick to produce a living flame. The candle fixture further includes an inner cover having one or more reinforcement ribs configured to provide structural support for the one or more ignitors.

Fuel igniter assembly having heat-dissipating element and methods of using same
A combustor for a gas turbine engine includes a combustion chamber and a fuel igniter assembly. The combustion chamber is defined by an annular inner combustor liner and an annular outer combustor liner. The fuel igniter assembly is coupled to the combustor and extends radially outward from the outer combustor liner. The fuel igniter assembly includes an igniter housing configured to house a fuel igniter therein, and a heat-dissipating element coupled to the igniter housing. The heat-dissipating element includes a plurality of fins configured to dissipate heat from the fuel igniter assembly.
Spark gap with triple-point electron emission prompting
The present approach relates to generating seed electrons at a spark gap in the absence of .sup.85Kr. The present approach utilizes electron emission from a triple-point instead to provide seed electrons to reduce the statistical time lag of a spark gap. In one such implementation, a spark gap a spark gap may be fabricated and/or operated without a radioactive component without otherwise changing its overall form or function of the spark gap.
Corona ignition with hermetic combustion seal
A corona igniter (20) comprises a central electrode (22) surrounded by an insulator (24), which is surrounded by a metal shell (26). A ceramic combustion seal (30) is disposed along the gap (32) between a shell lower end shell (52) and the insulator nose region (48) to provide a hermetic seal therebetween. The ceramic combustion seal (30) is typically a bushing, cylinder, or ring formed of sintered alumina. A glass material or glass/ceramic mixture (60) typically adheres the ceramic combustion seal (30) to the shell (26) and the insulator (24). Alternatively, the ceramic combustion seal (30) is brazed to the shell (26), and the glass material or glass/ceramic mixture (60) adheres the ceramic combustion seal (30) to the insulator (24).
