A method of making foam imparts antimicrobial and antiodorant qualities to the foam. Green tea powder is added to the polyol raw materials for making memory foam. The green tea memory foam is used to make pillows, cushions and mattresses. Green tea foam in the top layer of a mattress acts as an antiodorant such that less of the chemical smell of the memory foam is perceived by the user. In addition, the bacteria and mold that would otherwise develop in the moist warmer sleeping environment on memory foam are killed by the green tea additive to the foam. Measurable antimicrobial and antiodorant qualities in the green tea foam are achievable by adding green tea powder constituting less than 2% of the weight of the resulting green tea foam. A neck-support contour pillow is made using memory foam that contains green tea and a green dye.

Each of the first back portion and the second back portion carries a pair of male knock down bracket portions. Each back section carries a pair of female knock down bracket portions. Each female knock down bracket portion is adapted to receive and form a coupling with a corresponding male knock down bracket portion.

Modular mattress systems and methods are described. For example, a modular mattress can include a fabric cover configured to surround at least two foam layers. The fabric cover can include an opening to allow access to an interior region of the fabric cover. The mattress can include a first foam layer positioned within the interior region of the fabric cover, and an encasement layer positioned below the first foam layer. The encasement layer can include a recess configured to receive one or more modular support sections. The mattress can also include a plurality of modular support components received within the recess of the encasement.

An improved furniture system, including methods of manufacture, is disclosed. The furniture may be a sofa or a bed, which is reduced to a minimum volume for transportation. A flexible foldable honeycomb structure is used in manufacturing a supporting structure, wherein the hexagonal shape of said structure is strong and stable and provides a high bearing capacity versus weight. The honeycomb structure is designed to be foldable and used for saving space and to be easier for delivery in a box that fits in a small car, wherein said structure used flaccid materials that are glued to each other in certain ways to open and close easily, and wherein the number of layers of the flaccid materials determines the expansion length of the structure.

This particular invention accomplishes the objective of flat small packing by means of having a flap on the bottom of the sofa base pieces that can fasten and enclose a hollow space inside of the base. Sofa backs, cushions, tools and parts all can be placed inside of the sofa base during storage and shipping inside of a box optimally made of cardboard. The box only needs to be big enough to contain the base piece. The sofa back can then be attached to the seat frame by metal threaded rods. The arms can be attached to the sides using the hardware and the cushions put in place. Supporting legs are screwed onto the bottom by hand and the sofa is complete.
