It is important, however, to be able to remove and/or deflate the bolster quickly if the patient needs urgent medical attention. The patient support apparatus herein comprises a sheet having a pocket, and an inflated bolster removably received therein, such that in use with the sheet arranged on the bed, the bolster is arrangeable between the person's pelvis and knees, wherein the inflated bolster includes an outer relatively low-friction sleeve for aiding the insertion and removal of the bolster into and out of the pocket, and wherein the bolster comprises a dump valve at one end thereof for rapid deflation of the bolster if necessary, the low-friction sleeve comprising a handle at one end thereof to aid removal of the bolster from the pocket.

Deployable footrest

A deployable footrest assembly for a seat is provided. The deployable footrest assembly comprises a footrest movable between a stowed position and a deployed position in which the footrest presents a first surface for an occupant of the seat to rest their feet upon, wherein the footrest is bendable about an upstanding structural support for the seat such that the footrest is bent about the structural support in the stowed position.

The invention provides an adjustable bed comprising a frame (20) and at least one adjustable body support section including at least an adjustable backrest support section (12) pivotally mounted for angular adjustment with respect to the frame. The frame comprises at least two hinged sections (20a, 20b) including a head end sub-assembly configured as an upper body supporting section on which the backrest support section is mounted, and a separate toe end sub-assembly configured as a lower body supporting section hinged with respect to the upper body supporting section. Actuator means (40) is disposed within at least the upper body section for angular adjustment of the adjustable body support section. The head end sub-assembly and the toe end sub-assembly are capable of being folded together to reduce the length dimension of the bed for transportation and/or storage purposes and subsequently unfolded to provide a full length adjustable bed.

The travel leg restraint may further include at least one top strap secured to opposite ends of the elongate member to extend across and span the first concave contour and the second concave contour, wherein the strap has an adjustable length.

The second sleeve of the pillow case includes padding on an inner sleeve surface. The inflatable air bladder includes a valve that operates in a first state to allow an input of pressurized air and in a second state to allow an exit of bladder-stored air. Adding air to the inflatable air bladder, in the first state, increases a size of and pressure in the inflatable air bladder. Also, the padding on the inner sleeve surface of the second sleeve is soft, and compressible.
