Air conditioner and ventilation apparatus for the same

An air conditioner includes a main body including a body fan, a heat exchanger, and a body housing. A ventilation hose connects the main body to outdoor air. A ventilation module is attached to an outer side of the body housing, and includes a ventilation fan. The ventilation module switches between an exhaust mode in which indoor air is exhausted to the outdoors through the ventilation hose and an air supply mode in which outdoor air is supplied to the main body through the ventilation hose.

A sprinkler head accessory includes an inner ring attached to a sprinkler head and an outer ring hiding the edge of a ceiling hole through which the sprinkler head passes. The inner ring has a partition portion facing the outer ring with a gap therebetween. A ventilation portion constituted by the gap through which the indoor side of a ceiling board and the back side of the ceiling board communicate with one another is provided between the outer ring and the partition portion.

Dryer vent

A vent apparatus comprises a mount with air flow opening for mounting to a wall, a housing covering the mount, and a door pivoted to fall by gravity to a closed position but being movable to an open position when air flows from the air outflow passageway. The housing forms a downwardly and outwardly open chute extending well below a bottom of the mount and door, thus discouraging birds from approaching the air flow opening. The door and mount include bottom flanges that overlap when the door is in the closed position, further discouraging bird entry. The mount, housing and door are all metal with stiffening bends that are relatively simple construction, making assembly tow cost and providing a reliable function. The housing does not include large horizontal surfaces, thus discouraging birds and animals from building a nest in or on the housing.

Modulating reheat functionality for HVAC system

A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a first condenser coil of a refrigerant circuit, wherein the first condenser coil is configured to receive a first refrigerant flow from a compressor of the refrigerant circuit, a modulating valve of the refrigerant circuit, and a control circuitry communicatively coupled to the modulating valve. The modulating valve is configured to receive a second refrigerant flow from the compressor and configured to direct the second refrigerant flow to a second condenser coil of the refrigerant circuit and to a reheat coil of the refrigerant circuit in a parallel flow arrangement, and the control circuitry is configured to operate the modulating valve to apportion the second refrigerant flow between the second condenser coil and the reheat coil based on a detected operating parameter of an air flow directed across the reheat coil.

Systems and methods for vent protection enclosures

A generally planar blank made, for example, from sheet metal can be formed into a vent protector that can be mounted to an outer wall of a structure over the exhaust aperture of a vent to inhibit vertebrate wildlife from entering the vent. The vent protector forms an enclosure for receiving vent flaps that may extend outwardly from the wall of the structure.

Method and apparatus for operating a vehicle HVAC system to prevent output of inverse airflow

A front and rear integrated vehicle HVAC system includes a front HVAC portion with a front blower and a front vent outlet, and a rear HVAC portion with a rear blower and a rear vent outlet. The system includes a controller that determines a minimum voltage to be supplied to the rear blower to prevent an inverse air flow from being expelled from the rear outlet and/or a rear blower air intake. A voltage supplied to the rear blower is then set as the greater of the minimum rear blower voltage and a current rear blower voltage. The inverse air flow is air flow in the front HVAC portion generated by the front blower and intended for the front vent outlet that seeps into the rear HVAC portion and is expelled from the rear vent outlet and/or the rear blower air intake.

An exhaust fan includes a generally square housing, adjustable-height supports, and attachments for a variety of air ducts. The air ducts are each designed to provide a sufficient air seal to effectively enable the exhaust fan to evacuate dust and debris from a wide variety of standard doors or windows, either on the ground floor or an elevated floor.
