Air conditioning system with distilled water production from air
An air conditioning and water producing system includes a heat pumping unit and a membrane contactor in thermal communication with the heat pumping unit. The membrane contactor is configured such that a first brine flow is cooled by the heat pumping unit and diluted at the membrane contactor. A distiller is in thermal communication with the heat pumping unit and the membrane contactor such that a second brine flow is heated by the heat pumping unit and conveyed through the distiller. Thermal interaction between the second brine flow and the first brine flow flowing through the distiller extracts water from the second brine flow.
REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND REPURPOSING
Methods, systems and apparatuses are described that are directed to on-site recovery and/or repurposing of refrigerant, where an original refrigerant is converted into a refrigerant different from the original refrigerant. The refrigerant different from the original refrigerant can have relatively lower global warming potential (GWP) than the original refrigerant. The recovery and/or repurposing can be implemented for example in a refrigeration circuit, such as for example in general cooling and/or heating applications, which may be embodied in a heating, venting, and air conditioning (HVAC) system and/or unit, in a transport refrigeration system and/or unit, as well as in commercial, residential and/or industrial cooling and/or heating applications.

COOLING SYSTEM WITH INTEGRATED SUBCOOLING
A system includes a high side heat exchanger, a flash tank, a vessel, a load, and a compressor. The high side heat exchanger removes heat from a refrigerant. The flash tank stores the refrigerant from the high side heat exchanger. The vessel includes a chamber defined by an exterior housing and a tube positioned within the chamber. Heat is removed from the liquid refrigerant circulating through this tube and coming from the flash tank. The load uses the refrigerant from the tube to remove heat from a space proximate the load. The load sends the refrigerant into the chamber between the exterior housing and the tube. The compressor receives the refrigerant from the chamber between the exterior housing and the tube and compresses the refrigerant.
VAPOR COMPRESSION SYSTEM
A refrigeration system includes a compressor connected to a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger. An expansion device is connected between the first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger. A ratio of a volume of the first heat exchanger to a volume of the second heat exchanger is between 0.6 and 1.8.
Electrical transport refrigeration system
Examples of an electrically powered transport refrigeration unit (TRU) are disclosed. In one example, the TRU may include a refrigeration circuit that includes an electrically powered compressor, an evaporator equipped with an electrically powered blower, and a gas cooler equipped with an electrically powered blower. The TRU may also include a control circuit and a power regulator unit. The power regulator unit may be configured to supply variable DC and/or AC outputs to power components of the refrigeration circuit, and the control circuit may be configured to regulate the variable DC and AC outputs of the power regulator unit so as to control the operation of the TRU. The electrically powered TRU may be configured to use R774 as refrigerant.
REFRIGERATION CYCLE APPARATUS AND LIQUID LEVEL DETECTION SENSOR
Provided is a refrigeration cycle apparatus including: a refrigerant circuit formed by connecting, by a refrigerant pipe, a compressor, a condenser, an expansion device, an evaporator and a liquid reservoir; a liquid level detection sensor including a plurality of heat generating units and a plurality of temperature detection units, the heat generating units being paired with the temperature detection units, and provided in the liquid reservoir, the liquid level detection sensor being configured to detect a liquid level of a refrigerant accumulated in the liquid reservoir, based on a temperature of each of the heat generating units, in which the liquid reservoir includes a container for accumulating the refrigerant, an inlet pipe connected to the refrigerant circuit and configured to allow a portion of the refrigerant flowing out of the container to flow into the container, and in which in the container, a shielding portion is provided between an discharge outlet for the refrigerant of the inlet pipe and the liquid level detection sensor, to prevent the portion of the refrigerant flowing out of the discharge outlet from directly coming into contact with the liquid level detection sensor.
ECONOMIZER USED IN CHILLER SYSTEM
An economizer includes a separation wheel, a motor, and a liquid storage portion. The separation wheel is arranged and configured to separate refrigerant into gas refrigerant and liquid refrigerant. The separation wheel is attached to a shaft rotatable about a rotation axis. The motor is arranged and configured to rotate the shaft in order to rotate the separation wheel. The liquid storage portion is arranged and configured to store the liquid refrigerant. The economizer is adapted to be used in a chiller system including a compressor, an evaporator and a condenser.
