Method for drying laundry and dryer

A method for providing fresh air fed through a fan to a burner of a dryer, thereby charging the burner, when the dryer is operated with recirculating air. In commercial dryers in which the drying air is heated by a burner, it is customary to reuse the moist air leaving a drum containing the laundry to be dried as recirculating air. The recirculating air component is increased with increasing drying of the laundry. At the end of the drying operation, when the moist air no longer contains as much moisture as at the start, the moist air is used as recirculating air. The burner then no longer gets enough combustion air, which leads to an incomplete combustion. The dryer can be operated with a higher recirculating air component, an optimal combustion being guaranteed through the charging of the burner with fresh air. The invention permits more economical drying.

System, methods, and apparatus for aggregate dewatering

A dewatering device for aggregate product can be used to retro-fit existing aggregate product dewatering facilities in order to more efficiently capture product. The dewatering device can be movable to allow for the portability of the device relative to existing dewatering facilities. The device is adapted to receive a slurry of aggregate product and water and to vibrate to dry the aggregate product. A recycle system is included to receive any fines that may otherwise be lost by the system. The recycle system captures the fines and redirects them back towards the vibrating process of the vibrating device to direct them towards an exit of the vibrating device in order to use said fines as well as the other dewatered aggregate product. The portability of the device allows the device to be used with the existing facilities without the need to completely replace existing components for dewatering aggregate product.

Internal staged suppression system

An internal staged suppression system for suppressing a hazard occurring in a grain dryer includes a plurality of vertical column sections and at least one spray head positioned radially inward within the interior of the grain dryer. The spray head includes a deflector cap that generates a substantially horizontal spray of water sufficient to reach the walls defining the grain columns.

Dishwasher and method of controlling the same

A method of controlling a dishwasher includes: driving a circulation fan disposed in a circulation duct that communicates with at least two portions of a tub; controlling a rotational speed to change the rotational speed of the circulation fan; and driving an exhaust fan to discharge the air in the tub to the outside.

Heat treatment method and heat treatment apparatus

After a substrate implanted with impurities is heated to a preheating temperature, the front surface of the substrate is heated to a target temperature by irradiating the front surface of the substrate with a flash of light. Further, the flash irradiation is continued to maintain the temperature of the front surface near the target temperature for a predetermined time period. At this time, a flash irradiation time period in the flash heating step is made longer than a heat conduction time period required for heat conduction from the front surface of the substrate to the back surface thereof, and a difference in temperature between the front and back surfaces of the substrate is controlled to be always not more than one-half of an increased temperature from the preheating temperature to the target temperature during the flash irradiation. This alleviates the concentration of stresses resulting from a difference in thermal expansion between the front and back surfaces of the substrate to thereby prevent the cracking of the substrate.

Non-thermal drying systems with vacuum throttle flash generators and processing vessels

A system is disclosed for drying a material to liberate a substance such as a liquid having a vapor pressure from solids and/or dissolved substances in the material. The system includes a plenum chamber and a blower providing a stream of air to the plenum chamber. An outlet communicates with the plenum chamber and a velocity accelerator is disposed downstream of the outlet. The velocity accelerator is arranged to receive air from the outlet of the plenum chamber into a progressively narrowing interior passageway terminating at a downstream choke point orifice. The choke point orifice discharges into a larger diameter discharge region. A throttle body is disposed in the discharge region and is selectively movable toward and away from the choke point orifice to decrease or increase the volume of the discharge region. A passageway is formed through the throttle body for receiving flashed material from the discharge region and conveying the material in a downstream direction. Also disclosed is a system for drying materials contained within a processing vessel wherein flash generators with vacuum throttles are used to maintain drying conditions within the vessel and to remove liberated substance from the processing vessel.
