Methods and apparatus for improving multi-plate scraped heat exchangers

A scraped heat exchanger apparatus, including a vessel and a plurality of internally cooled plates disposed parallel to each other within the vessel. A rotating shaft is disposed at a central axis of the vessel. A rotating scraper arm, connected to the rotating shaft, moves between adjacent plates. The rotating scraper arm includes a scraper positioned to scrape solids from the outer surfaces of adjacent plates. A cooling fluid flows through an interior of each plate. The cooling fluid cools a gaseous process fluid flowing between adjacent plates. An opening in each of the plates permits the process fluid, and solids removed from the process fluid and scraped by the rotating scraper arm, to pass through the plates.

METHOD OF MANAGING ENGINE COOLER MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

A method of tracking an engine cooler in an aircraft includes recording an orientation of the engine cooler as orientation N. Prognostic health management data of the aircraft is tracked. A maintenance check of the aircraft is performed based on the tracked prognostic health management data. Whether to rotate an orientation of the engine cooler is determined with an aircraft maintenance database based on the tracked prognostic health management data of the aircraft. A recommendation is provided by the aircraft maintenance database as to whether to rotate the engine cooler. The orientation of the engine cooler is recorded as orientation N+1.

A heat exchange system having desired anti-scaling performance and an anti-scaling method thereof are disclosed. The heat exchange system at least comprises a load control unit, a temperature and pressure detection unit and an anti-scaling treatment unit. The heat exchange system conditions bonding ways of water quality in a HVAC chiller unit, an air compressor, a heat exchanger, a cooling unit, or a boiler under a variety of scaling conditions in both field operation and water quality, by integrating the interaction of those units together with the anti-scaling method for simulating water quality that has a water quality limit same as that in field operation. The heat exchange system further integrates with a testing of anti-scaling performance to make water quality no longer charged and lose the reaction power so as to prevent scaling formation, enhance the anti-scaling performance, and ensure operating efficiency and performance.
