Semiautomatic firearm
A semiautomatic firearm is presented that is a combination of known parts from the AR-15 style firearms and AK-47 style firearms and new parts. The firearm includes a receiver and a removable trunnion inserted into the receiver. A barrel is threaded and pinned into the trunnion and an adjustable gas block is connected to the barrel. The gas block includes a gas bore and an adjustable member that extends into and out of the gas bore thereby adjusting the amount of gases that travel through the gas block. The firearm also includes a foregrip installed over the barrel and gas block. The foregrip has a pattern of venting openings therein and an opening that provides access to the adjustable member of the gas block as well as a top rail and a bottom rail. The combination of these components provides a semiautomatic firearm that operates smoothly while being rugged and durable.

Method and device for facilitating disassembly of a firearm and release of a magazine
Disclosed is a device for facilitating disassembly of a firearm and release of a magazine removably attached to the firearm. The device comprising a fulcrum configured to be attached to the firearm, wherein the firearm comprises an upper receiver, a lower receiver, a rear takedown pin and a magazine release mechanism, wherein the rear takedown pin is configured to secure the upper receiver to the lower receiver, wherein the magazine release mechanism is configured to release the magazine from the firearm based on actuation of the magazine release mechanism. Further, the device includes a lever arm configured to operationally engage with the fulcrum, wherein a first part of the lever arm is operationally engaged with the rear takedown pin, wherein a second part of the lever arm is operationally engaged with the magazine release mechanism, wherein actuation of the lever arm displaces the rear takedown pin and actuates the magazine release mechanism, wherein displacement of the rear takedown pin results in disassembly of the upper receiver from the lower receiver, wherein disassembly of the upper receiver from the lower receiver occurs prior to actuation of the magazine release mechanism.

TAKEDOWN PIN FOR A RIFLE
Takedown pins for rifles have a pin movable in a direction along its length between an operating condition and a released condition. The pin has a first end portion that prevents relative movement of the upper receiver with respect to the lower receiver when the pin is in the operating condition. The first end portion has a lower end portion surface adapted to resist upward movement of the upper receiver's lug. The pin has an intermediate portion adjacent to the lower end portion surface defining a lower channel having a lower channel surface above the level of the lower end portion surface. When the pin is in the released condition, the lower channel is registered with the lug, and the lug is enabled to move upward with respect to the lower receiver by a limited distance to a disengaged position.
