The payload can be a laser pointer mounted on a firearm, which maintains the initial precise pointing during and after exposure in high G shock and vibration environments. Vertical and lateral adjustment controls can adjust minute changes in beam orientation. Precision adjustments can be performed in a zero G, one G, or high G environment and maintains the adjustment during and after being exposed to a high G shock or vibration environment.

FIREARM ACCESSORY MOUNTING INTERFACE
An accessory mounting interface for a firearm, and a related method, are disclosed. The interface has a firearm accessory, a first elongated fastener, and a second fastener rotationally mated to the first elongated fastener. The first elongated fastener has right-handed threading and is arranged through a through hole in the firearm accessory with a first end extending below first and second halves of a first slot protrusion of the firearm accessory. The second fastener has a length greater than a width, the length measured along a longitudinal axis of the second fastener, the second fastener having a plurality of straight edges. At least one of the plurality of straight edges prevents the second fastener from rotating further than a closed position when the at least one of the straight edges abuts a sidewall of an elongated slot in the firearm.
FIREARM ACCESSORY MOUNTING INTERFACE
An accessory mounting interface for a firearm, and a related method, are disclosed. The interface has a firearm accessory, a first elongated fastener, and a second fastener rotationally mated to the first elongated fastener. The first elongated fastener has right-handed threading and is arranged through a through hole in the firearm accessory with a first end extending below first and second halves of a first slot protrusion of the firearm accessory. The second fastener has a length greater than a width, the length measured along a longitudinal axis of the second fastener, the second fastener having a plurality of straight edges. At least one of the plurality of straight edges prevents the second fastener from rotating further than a closed position when the at least one of the straight edges abuts a sidewall of an elongated slot in the firearm.

Provided is a dot sighting device with large caliber for binocular vision in which sighting can be performed rapidly and accurately by minimizing parallax. The dot sighting device is attached to and detached from a mount for a heavy machine gun. In addition, by using the dot sighting device with large caliber, a user can rapidly and accurately sight and fire a target by taking into consideration types and characteristics of the target and a distance to the target.

There are provided a reticle, a reticle unit, and an optical apparatus, such as a rifle scope, each having a novel configuration that allows formation of a desired pattern. In a reticle 30A.sub.1 on which a pattern that serves as an indicator when an object under observation is visually recognized is formed, the pattern is formed of protruding sections 33a and 33b provided on a pattern formation surface 31a of a plate-shaped optical member 31. The protruding sections 33a and 33b are each formed of a plurality of protruding ridges 133 (structural elements) extending in the lengthwise direction of a line that forms the pattern in parallel to the widthwise direction of the line. The protruding ridges 133 each have an inclining surface 140 inclining with respect to the optical path of an observation optical path, and the inclination angle of the inclining surface with respect to the optical axis Z is so set at an angle that causes light incident via an objective lens to be deflected to exit out of the observation optical path.
ESTABLISHING PAIRING BETWEEN ELECTRICAL DEVICES
A method of pairing a device and a single one of two or more potential pairing devices includes first setting the device in a seek mode and scanning for the potential pairing devices. A list is stored in the device that includes any potential pairing devices discovered while in the seek mode. The list is stored in a sequential order based on a signal strength between the device and each of the discovered potential pairing devices. Then the device determines whether any of the potential pairing devices in the list are set in a predetermined mode, and pairs with the one of the potential pairing devices in the predetermined mode that has the highest signal strength.
