MAGNETIC LOCK FOR THROWABLE ROBOT
A two wheeled throwable robot comprises an elongate chassis with two ends, a motor at each end, drive wheels connected to the motors, and a tail extending from the elongate chassis. The throwable robot includes an enable/disable arrangement comprising a pair of magnets generating a magnetic field and a magnetic field sensor positioned in proximity to the pair of magnets. The sensor is activated upon the occurrence of a specific modification of the magnetic field. The throwable robot may include a key member formed of a material to modify the magnetic field to enable the robot.
Compact covert fractal antennae
The present disclosure describes a fractal antenna comprising a plurality of antenna elements having a two-dimensional fractal shape and an electrical circuit coupled to the plurality of antenna elements operative to provide electrical power to and maintain phase relationships between the plurality of antenna elements. The electrical circuit provides a signal to the plurality of antenna elements that cause the antenna elements to radiate in the high-frequency (HF) and/or low-frequency (LF) bands. Also described is an antenna comprising a three-dimensional fractal, near-fractal, or super-fractal antenna having a fractal, near-fractal or super-fractal shape.
Averting a danger
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a method for averting a danger. The method is performed by a control apparatus for an unmanned vehicle, and the method involves obtaining a plurality of pieces of sensor information. At least partially depending on the obtained pieces of sensor information it is determined whether a danger exists. If it is determined that a danger exists, then at least one averting measure for averting the danger is determined, and the at least one averting measure is performed or caused to be performed.
HYBRID ARMOR ASSEMBLY
An armor assembly has a metal strike face with a front and a back. A textile is coupled to the front of the metal strike face, and a backer is coupled to the back of the metal strike face. A front cover is coupled to the textile, and a back cover is coupled to the backer. In addition, the metal strike face can allow a Level III or a Level IV projectile to penetrate the metal strike face and be stopped by the backer.
Battering ram with canister deployment
A cannister deployment apparatus for discharge of gas cannisters within a target building includes a battering ram arranged for being carried on a vehicle for penetrating into the building when impacted on the building by the vehicle. The battering ram has a housing with a plurality of receptacles for receiving the cannisters to be discharged respectively therein. The receptacles include (i) one or more release receptacles arranged to release the respective cannister from the release receptacle upon actuation by a release actuator so that the cannister is discharged from the housing, and (ii) one or more discharge receptacles enabling actuation of the respective cannister into an active state while the cannister remains supported within the discharge receptacle upon actuation by a discharge actuator arranged to trigger a release lever of the cannister in the discharge receptacle into an active state.

ADVANCED COOPERATIVE DEFENSIVE MILITARY TACTICS, ARMOR, AND SYSTEMS
This invention provides impact detection and vehicle cooperation to achieve particular goals and determine particular threat levels. For example, an impact/penetration sensing device may be provided on a soldier's clothing such that when this clothing is impacted/penetrated (e.g., penetrated to a particular extent) a medical unit (e.g., a doctor or medical chopper) may be autonomously, and immediately, provided with the soldiers location (e.g., via a GPS device on the soldier) and status (e.g., right lung may be punctured by small-arms fire).
Composite panels usefully employed in anti-ballistic products and methods to make the same
Composite panel comprising at least one layer containing at least one tape comprising a thermoplastic polymer selected from the group consisting of polyolefins, polyesters, polyvinyl alcohols, polyacrylonitriles, polyamides or polyketone, wherein the tape has a tensile strength of at least 1.2 GPa and an areal density of between 5 and 150 g/m.sup.2, and an adhesive in contact with said layer, whereby the amount of the adhesive in contact with one side of the at least one layer is between 0.2 and 15 g/m.sup.2, wherein the adhesive is a plastomer wherein said plastomer is a random copolymer of ethylene or propylene and one or more C.sub.2 to C.sub.12 a-olefin co-monomers and wherein said plastomer has a density as measured according to 1801183 of between 860 and 930 kg/m.sup.3. In a preferred embodiment the tape comprises an ultra high molecular weight polyethylene. The composite panel is used in a ballistic resistant article.
