In one embodiment, a safety trailer has semi-tractor hitches at both ends and a safety wall that is fixed to one side of the trailer. That side, however, can be changed to the right or left side of the road, depending on the end to which the truck attaches. A caboose can be attached at the end of the trailer opposite the tractor to provide additional lighting and impact protection. Optionally, the trailer can be equipped with overhead protection, lighting, ventilation, onboard hydraulics, compressors, generators and other equipment, as well as related fuel, water, storage and restroom facilities and other amenities.

Reference calibration for an adaptive optics system

A method of determining a reference calibration setting for an adaptive optics system (1) comprising a detecting device (8) for detecting light from an object (5); and at least one controllable wavefront modifying device (9) arranged such that light from the object (5) passes via the wavefront modifying device (9) to the detecting device (8). The method comprises the steps of: arranging (100) a light-source between the object (5) and the wavefront modifying device (9) to provide a reference light beam to the detecting device (8) via the wavefront modifying device; for each of a plurality of orthogonal wavefront modes of the wavefront modifying device: controlling (101) the wavefront modifying device to vary a magnitude of the orthogonal wavefront mode over a predetermined number of magnitude settings; acquiring (102) a series of readings of the detecting device, each reading corresponding to one of the magnitude settings; determining (103) a quality metric value indicative of an information content of the reading for each reading in the series of readings, resulting in a series of quality metric values; and determining (106) a reference parameter set for the wavefront modifying device corresponding to an optimum quality metric value based on the series of quality metric values.

SHOOTING CARTRIDGE AND REMOTE ELECTROSHOCK WEAPON FOR CARTRIDGE USE
20220034634 · 2022-02-03 ·

The invention relates to shooting cartridges of non-lethal remote electroshock weapons (DESHO) and to the DESHO for using such cartridges.

Field of the invention is non-lethal remote-action weapon with electric means of damaging biological targets.

The technical result is creation of a shooting cartridge DESHO with an internal source of energy for initiating a propellant charge, and technologically simple samples of DESHO, including multi-charged, insensitive to electrostatic discharges, allowing use thereof under any atmospheric conditions, with the possibility of contact use or demonstration of a damaging electric discharge, DESHO with attached shooting cartridge, and with reduced overall dimensions.

The shooting cartridge has gun barrels with probes and a current conductor located in the probes or cavities for the current lead, a propellant charge and a source or generator of electrical or mechanical energy for initiating the propellant charge driven by means of a DESHO part.

DESHO for use of the cartridge has a housing, a source of electrical energy, a generator of high-voltage damaging pulses, a switch of the generator of high-voltage damaging pulses, pockets for installing cartridges or a magazine or a magwell for several cartridges, an element of action powered by a source or generator of initiating a shooter's shot and a switch for the generator of high-voltage damaging pulses interacting with the element of action.

Diffuse light source and visual dazzler system made therefrom

A diffuse light source, for use in energy efficient lighting, as well as for visual disorientation or disruption systems, is configured with a single solid torus (15) or rotating dual cylinder (35a, 35b) diffuser of transparent refracting material into which light (13, 33) from a laser or LED beam source (11, 31) is coupled. Light (19, 39) emerges radially outward in all directions from the diffuser.

WEARABLE MULTI-SENSORY PERSONAL SAFETY AND TRACKING DEVICE
20170229004 · 2017-08-10 ·

The present invention is a wearable, multi-sensory, personal safety and tracking device which predicts danger by sensing changes in voice, pulse, emotions, impact, motion of the wearer and the device state. In emergency situations, the device triggers SOS, alarm, electro shock, pepper spray and starts capturing images and audio recording for the safety of the wearer. For keeping a track of the wearer, the device connects to the internet using GPRS and sends the images clicked, the sound recorded and the GPS and GSM coordinates to the rescue team for gaining help for the wearer if needed. In the present invention, various technologies are integrated into one single wearable device thereby eliminating the need for purchasing and carrying multiple devices like pulse monitor, motion monitor, phone, camera, GPS module, self-defense tools, etc. thus saving money and providing comfort to the user.

Method and device for local stabilization of a radiation spot on a remote target object

A method for local stabilization of a radiation spot formed by a high energy laser beam includes receiving radiation reflected by the target object, where the radiation reflected by the target object passes through the same optical path as the high energy laser beam. An image processing is performed by analyzing and comparing the image of the illuminated target object or part of the illuminated target object to at least one image of the illuminated target object or part of the illuminated target object produced at a prior point in time. A correction signal is computed, with which an optical correction device is actuated. A filter correction signal is produced by a filter device, while a controller correction signal is produced by a fine tracking controller. Finally, the correction signal is formed from the filter correction signal and the controller correction signal.
