Method and apparatus for remote optical measurement of the position of a surface

Systems and methods for optically measuring a position of a measurement surface relative to a reference position. The system is a wireless network comprising a centrally located data acquisition computer and a multiplicity of remotely located sensor modules mounted at different locations within wireless communication range of a central receiver. Each sensor module is mounted to a clamp that is made specific to a control surface location and embedded with an RFID tag to denote clamp location. The optical components of the sensor modules are selected to enable indication of the linear position of a measurement surface relative to a reference position and then broadcast the measurement results. The broadcast results are received by the central receiver and processed by the data acquisition computer, which hosts human interface software that displays measurement data.

A paver, in particular a slipform paver, has a machine frame supported by front and rear undercarriages and a paving device for the paving of material. The paver is provided with an apron monitoring device for generating elevation profile data or elevation profile signals describing the elevation profile of the material deposited in the apron of the paving device in a direction transverse to the working direction. A data or signal processing device receives the elevation profile data or signals. The apron monitoring device provides the data needed to allow the material to be spread more evenly across the working width of the paver during the feeding operation by means of a spreading device for spreading the material to be paved in a direction transverse to the working direction and/or to allow the spreading device to be controlled for improved spreading of the material after the paver has been fed.

Digital outputs from the detectors are processable to determine sub-pixel localization of the object onto the detectors, such that a location of the object is determined more accurately than by detector geometry alone. Another coded localization system includes a plurality of optical channels arranged to cooperatively distribute a partially polarized signal onto a plurality of pixels. Each of the channels includes a polarization code that is different from any other polarization code in other channels to uniquely polarize electromagnetic energy passing therethrough. Digital outputs from the detectors are processable to determine a polarization pattern.

The control unit is configured to perform a measurement of a measurement value by the measurement unit at least in a region where the movement range and the shaping region overlap each other, and control the ejection unit and the position changing unit to shape the three-dimensional shaped object in accordance with the measurement value.

A coordinate measuring machine (CMM) system is provided including utilization of a vision probe (e.g., for performing operations for determining and/or measuring surface profiles of workpieces, etc.) The angular orientation of the vision probe may be adjusted using a rotation mechanism so that the optical axis of the vision probe is directed toward an angled surface of a workpiece (e.g., in some implementations the optical axis may be approximately perpendicular to the angled workpiece surface). X-axis, y-axis and z-axis slide mechanisms (e.g., moving in mutually orthogonal directions) may in conjunction move the vision probe to acquisition positions along an image stack acquisition axis (which may approximately coincide with the optical axis) for acquiring a stack of images of the angled workpiece surface. Focus curve data may be determined from analysis of the image stack, which indicates 3-dimensional positions of surface points on the angled surface of the workpiece.

There is also provided a position measuring method in which the obtained shape of the mirror is used to adjust measurements in the X-direction, a lithographic apparatus and a device manufacturing method making use of such a lithographic apparatus.
