ESTIMATION OF SPATIAL PROFILE OF ENVIRONMENT

Disclosed herein is a system and method for facilitating estimation of a spatial profile of an environment based on a light detection and ranging (LiDAR) based technique. In one arrangement, the present disclosure facilitates spatial profile estimation based on directing light over one dimension, such as along the vertical direction. In another arrangement, by further directing the one-dimensionally directed light in another dimension, such as along the horizontal direction, the present disclosure facilitates spatial profile estimation based on directing light in two dimensions.

Semiconductor light source, operating method and spectrometer

A semiconductor light source configured for a spectrometer may include at least one multipixel chip, at least one color setting component disposed optically downstream of at least one of emission region, and a drive unit. The color setting component may be configured for altering a spectral emission behavior of assigned emission regions. The drive unit may be configured to operate a plurality of mutually independently drivable emission regions successively, such that during operation thereof at least three spectrally narrowband individual spectra are emitted successively by the plurality of mutually independently drivable emission regions together with the associated color setting component from which individual spectra a total spectrum emitted by the semiconductor light source is constituted.

An acquisition kit, including: a mouthpiece intended for being placed into the mouth of a patient and including a reference mark; and an image-acquisition apparatus including a screen for viewing an image that can be acquired, computer memory containing information on target acquisition conditions, and a computer program comprising program code instructions for displaying on said screen a reference in a position such that, when the reference mark matches the reference on the screen, the acquisition apparatus complies with the target acquisition conditions.

A measurement system is provided with an array of laser diodes to generate light having one or more optical wavelengths. A detection system is provided with at least one photo-detector, a lens and a spectral filter at an input to the at least one photo-detector. The measurement system is further configured to transmit at least a portion of the output signal, indicative of an output status, to a cloud service over a transmission link. The cloud service is configured to receive the output status, to generate processed data based on the received output status, and to store the processed data, and wherein the cloud service is capable of storing a history of at least a portion of the received output status over a specified period of time.

OPTICAL LOCAL OSCILLATOR FOR ALL-OPTICAL TIME SCALES, AND ASSOCIATED TIMEKEEPING METHODS

The frequency stability of an optical local oscillator is improved by locking a laser to a silicon Fabry-Perot cavity operating at a temperature near 124 K, where the coefficient of thermal expansion of silicon is near zero. The cavity is mounted inside a cryostat housed in a temperature-stabilized vacuum system that is surrounded by an isolating enclosure and supported by an active vibration platform. Laser light is steered with a superpolished mirror toward a superpolished focusing optic that couples the laser light into the cavity. Light reflected from the cavity is used to stabilize the laser via the Pound-Drever-Hall technique, while light transmitted through the cavity is used to stabilize the laser power. A resonant transimpedance amplifier allows the laser power to be reduced, which reduces heating of the cavity caused by residual absorption of the light.

System for performing spectroscopy

A system for performing spectroscopy on a target is provided. In some aspects, the system includes an optical assembly that includes an optical source configured to generate light at one or more frequencies to be directed to a target. The optical assembly also includes at least one optical filter configured to select desired light signals coming from the target, wherein the at least one optical filter comprises an etalon and at least one reflecting surface external to the etalon, the at least one reflecting surface being configured to redirect to the etalon, at least once, an incident beam reflected from the etalon.

System and method to calibrate color measurement devices

A system including a processor and a memory configured to store code executed by the processor is provided. In one or more implementations, the processor is configured by the code to calibrate measurements made by color measurement devices. In one particular implementation, the processor receives a measurement dataset of one or more color values, for a sample obtained by a color measurement device. The processor is configured to convert the measurement dataset to a standard space measurement dataset using a standard space measurement model and calculate a color dataset based on the standard space measurement dataset using a color conversion model. The processor is further configured to output the calculated color dataset to at least one of a display, database or local memory store.

Provided is a hyperspectral sensor including a spectral angle converting unit configured to convert an angle of incident light differently according to a wavelength, a diffraction unit configured to selectively diffract the incident light according to an incident angle and a wavelength, a focusing optics including at least one lens, and configured to collect diffracted light passing through the diffraction unit, and an image sensor configured to acquire an image passing through the focusing optics and formed on a focal plane, wherein the diffraction unit includes a volume Bragg grating having a periodic refractive index distribution therein.
